lena, that's friggin' awesome =D how on earth do you get hair to look so...hair-ish? Haha, I use an eraser to put the light strands in and then use a mechanical pencil to draw back in dark strands. Thanks guys, drawing this picture was fun! (*cough* wish I could give it to Apolo himself lol *cough*) |

Two more! There's a story behind these...which I'll get into once they're all here   This one's not exactly crystal-clear, so I'll try to repost one that's clearer as soon as possible =)  THIS one...well, it was a pain in the @$$ at first. Every time I tried to draw his grin it made him look almost like a werewolf. Thankfully it turned out alright in the end! =D |

Thanks =) Okay, okay, I'll explain the Ohno Project. Around the end of Feb, our drawing prof told us to start thinking about ideas for a free-choice assignment (something like that). I had said something about trying to convince him to let me draw Apolo less than five minutes before this announcement was made. I think I was kidding at first, tho. Then...the Olympics ended and I decided I wasn't kidding. I wanted to do some kind of tribute, I guess, but didn't know what. I did a few drawings (including the Anime Ohno and a few others I'll post soon, i promise  but at first they didn't seem to be going anywhere. Out of a complete and total whim I decided I HATED the gray streaky background on the anime pic, and cut it out. That's when I got the idea to do a few more realistic pieces in the same cut-out-ish style. I think it came together really well  Like I said, the rest of this will be posted really soon, along with (hopefully, if i can manage it) a big shot of what the whole thing looks like. |
