Here's hoping this doesn't get blown up too badly.... There's a lot of history behind this one little drawing, even though I only started working on it about a week ago and just finished it within the last couple of days. Don't wanna bore everyone with that history, though...unless someone asks. Surprisingly fun, but there was a big problem with ink smudging over the white paper...which is why I had to repaint it a couple of times. It's funny, I like working with india ink, but detest the mess it can make.

Alrighty darn, i was afraid of that! Anyway, I was looking through the gigantic heap of Apolo pics that resides on my ancient computer, trying to think about something to draw, then I saw the original and something just snapped - like, "that would look freaking awesome in ink!" So I spent most of that night and the next day drawing it out and inking, getting those good ol' blotches I was talking about. Then, Thursday, I had art history, so I just figured, what the h*ll, and took what I had done so far (blotched nose, thumbprints and all) and showed my instructor...who in terms of critiques is about as critical as Len Goodman at times, especially with my work(not exaggerating, either x.X ) so it shocked the crap outta me when he said he thought it was good, just needed some touchups, that kind of thing. Needless to say I spent most of that friday repainting the background, and sunday the ink itself was redone. Tuesday, art history again, and again I decided to show him the finished result. For the first time in recorded memory, I got a solid compliment from him! woooooo! *cheers* So needless to say, this little bugger found its way right into my portfolio. Aaand then....today, I went to the computer lab and got it scanned. The lady on duty saw it, thought it was cool, then when I showed her the reference pic, she asked (not joking either) "..Is he your boyfriend?" whiiich my instant response to was "I wish!"

holy crap you two are fantastic. As I said, the art part of the family skipped a generation (me) I wish I could draw, but can't. I like both. o911g, you captured his eyes well. Mars, I liked how you captured his expression. Great work ladies ;D

Ohno911groban do you have any skectches of josh? no. i only have sketches of apolo, johnny depp , jon bon jovi, and one of robert downey jr (that I'm currently working on) i had a very short crush on groban during the end of last year, and thats why i have him in my username. I don't any more. I'm just too lazy to change it.
