Hey! I became a fan during the 2002 Salt Lake games. That's when I also became a fan of short track. I think it's such an intense sport that should be given more recognition. Plus it's hard waiting four years to see Apolo compete, lol.
It was so great to see Apolo in Torino. The 500m race was something I'll never forget. His reaction was priceless and it was so great to see all of his hard work from the past four years pay off. That night was the best night of the Olympics.
I'm praying for Apolo in 2010. It would be awesome. I REALLY hope he's there!!!!

I agree, linzy (hey we share our name, kinda!)... I loved Apolo's expressions as he crossed the finish lines..... Something you can't easily forget....

I noticed him at the Salt Lake Olympics because he was getting a bit of attention. And THEN I watched the race where he and others fell on the ice and were disqualified, when he was interviewed after the race he was SO gracious, saying, that's what happens in competition and I think that's when he said his somewhat famous quote, "That's short track."
THEN I saw him in the race where he fell and courageously crawled across the finish line to win the silver. WOW. What guts.
I hope I'm remembering the events right.

Yes, Apolo certainly has a lot of class. He is so gracious and always takes the high road. I admire his attitude even more than I do his incredible skating ability.
