This is not the expression of a happy man. I hate to see him so concerned and unhappy. God, I hope he does much, much better in SLC.

I was looking at these pics and I was thinking 'man, that photographer is pretty good'... Then I realized they're the pics I took- thanks for putting them up here Peter, you were a lifesaver over the weekend to those of us "south of the border". Thank you so much! ;D And Doonick, thanks for posting those thumbnails. I sure noticed John Eley's achievement. Your countrymen are coming on strong. It's funny, in my mind's eye I've been seeing a World Cup in London for more than a year now. Stranger things have happened, right?

This is the picture of someone with an old soul; perhaps a soul in pain or sorrow. This isn't his game face that he talks about when he says he intentionally shows no emotion "almost mean-like". There's plenty of emotion in this look. We'll never know....

So glad the men won the silver in the team relay! I think that's why Apolo looks so happy after the competition, especially when he's with his teammates. It's like he's happy he hadn't let anyone down or disappointed people who cared. Our relay team needed him to win a medal and I wonder if that's the reason why he decided to go to the Quebec WC. Not so much because he wanted to (maybe he felt he needed more time to prepare for SLC), but he did it for the team.
