Thanks Doonick for the pics.
But OUCH! Talk about spread eagle across the ice. Hard to tell if he booted out or was interfered with or both. Both blades are completely off the ice. No bueno.....
Just hope our guy isn't hurt.

Doonick thanks for that! I'm just jumping from thread to thread trying to keep up. Forgot all about this weekend! Aw man, look at that! Well, he's a big guy and he knows that falls happen sometimes. Still hard to see though.  Still, there was a silver for the team relay so I heard. Big Yay for that! I love the relays. I can watch them until my eyes bleed. I love it when Apolo brings it home so I always hope for him to get the last laps. |

By the way Doonick, it always amazes me you can always find these really great pics in the UK, while we here in the states are scouring the net for this weekends pics, and can't find diddly squat. Clearly we need a better search engine or better website sources.   |

Ah, man...you know what I hate about these pics? Its just that the look on his face in every one says what a hard time he's having. There were so many smiley pics at the nationals. Granted, this is just a snapshot in time, but still....wer're not used to see him struggling.
And check out the first pic...it looks like LEe's left skate was just about to come down and slice Apolo's hand. Hopefully it wasn't really that close.
He's going to have to do alot of work this week psychologically to shake this all off. But I know he can do it!

Apart from the shots that show the fall, all the other photos look like "business as usual" to me. Apolo even looks like he's enjoying racing during the 1000m B final. And I had the same concern as you about Lee's blade being uncomfortably close to Apolo's hand. But after looking at the photo, IMO Lee had it under control. Apolo might disagree with that, however! Apolo is probably going to have a more serious, focused demeanor during international competition, but he actually looks pretty comfortable to me. |
