April sucks big time! Sorry to sound immature with that comment, but, she doesn't update often enough, Noelle tells us more about Apolo and what he's up to! It's pathetic. And why are the new galleries still under construction?!! I'd can her if I were Apolo. The IT guy I used to work with could build a gallery in half a day! Apolo should hire him.  |

I knew April, used to chat with her and other former Ozers a couple years ago. She was/is just a fan before she got hired to run Apolo's official site. I remember she first met Apolo at a ST comp. back in 2003. She's like, an artist, and she had a whole book full of drawings of Apolo, and showed him the book at the banquet. Apolo seemed to really enjoy that, and was pretty flattered. (Her whole story is probably in the OZ archives somewhere.) After that encounter, I know she's been to other ST comps. and whenever Apolo did an appearance in Cali, she's been practically to all of them; so she's met Apolo a bunch of times...that's prob. how she got the official site gig.
I dunno, she was a nice person to talk to...I've never met her in person, but like I said, used to chat with her alot a few years ago. Sure she 'may' do a bad job of updating his site, but from what I can recall, she was (or maybe still is) going to college and has another job too...so she has other things going on in her life than just devoting all her time to Apolo's site. Besides, before she took over his site, it was 10X worse before and it never got updated! and ya know, offical websites are NEVER as good as a fansite is.

Apolo should just direct people to OZ in lieu of an official site and be done with it. Noelle's is the best.

I wonder if a big part of the problem with Apolo and Allison's site is they don't give her anything to work with. They send stuff directly to Noelle, do they courtesy copy April? How undignified to have to cut and paste from OZ to get material for the "official" site.

I know for a fact that April has racing pictures of Allison from 2 years ago for Allison's galleries and they have never been posted. Apolo may not have anything going on he wants posted right now too. Like enelyak said it is 100% better than it was the first 2 years his site was up. |

Apolo's official site is constantly lacking in informatin, photos are years old, and his schedule isn't posted. Somebody needs to get their so-called "professional" ass in gear, and keep up with the site! That's your job girl! It's makes Apolo look bad. PERIOD.

I CONSIDER HIS MANAGEMENT PART OF HIS PERSONAL WEBSITE. WHERE ARE YOU GUYS!. I think the poor little chick needs to be hired onto Brillstein-Grey, so she can have every last bit of information, Or, they should just let the official website die!!! I vote for the sweet little chick who needs information! Since his website is empty!!! ;D I voted against her yesterday, I would rather give her a chance today. JUST GO FOR IT GIRL!! Just go for it. |

I just sent a politely worded email to the email address on Apolo's web site expressing my concern over the state of the web site. I expect it goes to April. In the email I said that I probably should be addressing the matter to Brillstein Grey Entertainment, but thought the message would probably go to the web mistress of the site, and wanted to give her a chance to rectify the situation before I contacted Brillstein Grey Entertainment about having someone there take over management of the site. Don't know if it will do any good. It probably won't. But I thought a kindly worded threat to go to his agent might get her off her duff. If it doesn't, Brillstein Grey Entertainment's address is on the site with 2 names to contact.

Doesn't she work for Apolo? Isn't it his job to decide if April is doing a good job? Is Brillstein Grey in charge of his website now?
How do we know there's anything to update--that Apolo wants us to know about, that is?
If he's given her work to do and she's not doing it, it's his fault for not taking care of the problem. If he hasn't given her anything to add to the site or update, what is she supposed to do--make stuff up?
Wouldn't it be more productive to get word to Apolo that we want more info/pictures? Why take it out on the hired help?
I wouldn't be inclined to listen to someone I don't work for who threatens to report me to someone else I don't work for, especially if my real boss had no complaints.

Good for you sara..April was quick to completely remove allisons message board without regard to any genuine fans she had..

billey36 - I agree with qualifiers. If the problem is April is not posting info she's been given, she needs to get busy. However, if the problem is Apolo/Allison aren't giving her info (but they are giving it to Noelle?) she needs to work that out with them or give them her resignation.
I would guess Apolo doesn't want to answer fan questions very often and is often hard to get a hold of. Given that, what good is his site except for occassional announcements? Between the fan sites like this one for general gushing and gossip and the OZ ST news site, what is it that April can offer that makes running the site worth bothering? If Apolo isn't skating, I suspect his daily or weekly schedule isn't going to be very interesting. (e.g. Meeting with potential sponsors, went to gym, ate wheaties, day-dreamed about Alba). Sure it would be cool if Apolo did a daily blog, but, I don't think it is going to happen.

One of the reasons Noelle can update more frequently than April is that Noelle has tons of short track connections and April does not. April is only given the info that Apolo wants her to post. right now there probably isn't much to post. This is only my opinion but it seems to me that when Noelle posts something on the OZ then April puts it on his site.
There is jealousy on April's part because of the great job Noelle does. That's why you see April post criticizing posts on the OZ occasionaly.
Sara - I hope your email helps. April could at least post some pictures that maybe we haven't seen yet.

Billie, I went to the only email address on Apolo's web site. If he reads it great. If she reads it great. If no one reads it...not so great. I didn't lambaste or flame her. It was an appropriately business like email. I said that I was concerned regarding the web site. That it hadn't been updated since 27May. That fans expected to be able to go there for the most up to date information on Apolo since it was the official web site, but that there were other sites with far more up to date information about his schedule, etc. than could be found on the official website. I asked if maybe it could better handled by his agent. And why do I feel the need to defend myself from you? To heck with it. |
