For real? It wouldn't matter if he was 4 feet tall? I agree he's more than just a height (or lack there of) but I am somewhat abashed to admit, a big part of my liking for Apolo is this fantasy package of great hair, great smile, great butt, that Cosmo torso, and 5'8." To find he may be significantly shorter than that and his chest in Hawaii is not the Cosmo chest is a blow to my fantasies. Next his hair will fall out and he'll confirm his retirement from skating and he'll still be a really great guy, terrific former athlete, etc but <sob>

I don't think u have to worry about Apolo's hair falling out MT, lol. And as for everything else I think He's amazingly sexy now and is only gonna get better with age, kinda like Johnny Depp.

Anyway, I would allow as how Apolo might be closer to 5'7" than 5'6" but 5'8", no way!!Rusty is taller than Apolo, just a bit.

But honestly though, if you seem Apolo in person, you're not going to care about a vertical inch here or there.

Yuki is probably 5'3" or 4". With his boots on.

I don't think his hair is really going to fall out. At least not from male pattern balding. I'm not so sure about Dep, but then I'm not so concerned about that hottie. His hair and teeth could all fall out but he's such an amazing actor, I'm not sure we'd notice. Retired athletes don't have such a path to age with grace and continue in the spotlight and our affections.

It isn't fair to the person, but the nature of fame and fans is we have to have constant new input to feed the fan-tasy. One always wants to know "what have you done (for me) lately." Hence the "Where's Apolo thread." Face it, we want more, we want it hot and we want pictures. Otherwise, he is just a fond memory to us. It isn't like we really know him and he's really in our lives. He's a construct we've made of what we see in the press, what we imagine and what we create here on fan sites.

Sometimes that seems so needy and neurotic to me and I backoff - usually with humor and Canadians. It's a reality check. Maybe nuns and satanic priests do it for others, or picking fights, or discussing something else way OT.

Anyway, blah, blah, blah, real downer. The height thin just made my Apolo construct a little wobbly and I have to make a few adjustments to keep the faith alive. I'm ready to move on from height and discuss length, or brownies, or whatever.

Oh, I agree stongly and enthusiastically - within a certain range of normality, at least. It's like the height thing. If the guy is unusually, um, short, well then it does matter. Not much chance of an unhappy surprise in this instance, at least.
