Wow! Apolo surfing pics, AWESOME! And AAO shirtless! what we've been hoping for lol! yummy. And I still see Apolo has great abs (maybe just a 4-pack now, and not quite the 6-pack he had in the cosmo pics, but whatever, he still looks fab!  ) |

They're amazing photos, aren't they? Apolo's friend Kimo took most of them, I think Kimo's fiancee Jan took one or two. Kimo said over on OZ that he's been surfing since he was in seventh grade, so Apolo had a good teacher.
Tabbi, you're right, the wax keeps you from slipping off of the board. The wetsuits are worn mainly to keep you warm but are also helpful in preventing chafing. They work by trapping a thin layer of water next to your body that takes on the temperature of your body heat, and it helps to keep you warm. There are also drysuits. The wetsuit (shirt/shorts) that Apolo is wearing looks a lot lighter in weight than the ones my brother used to wear -- the materials are more advanced now.
