yuki is shorter than apolo.....maybe he's 5'5 or 5'6 or something in between......there's nothing weird about a son who is taller than his father.....my brother is taller than my father and i have the same height as my father.....

I'm a head shorter than my dad. My dad is 6'3". So I'm used to tall guys. My brother is almost 6'. He's like "MAKE GROW FASTER!!!". He's cute. I think it's cool when you're children are taller than their parents. That's awesome!

I only wear heels on certain occasions. Like parties or dates LOL. Sometimes I don't even wear heels on dates. Just flats. I'm very casual and WOW we're off topic.

I can't get past the cuteness of these two. I've tried. I just can't. Re: the last pics posted, I love the one with Yuki reading over Apolo's shoulder. Is it wrong that I'm burning to know what's on those papers that is of so much interest to them? I think Apolo's on the phone in that pic, correct me if I'm wrong. And the beach shots are great. Love them!

I think many factors contributed to their being close. Apolo coming of age had lots to do with it, because there's so many things you can't see clearly through the eyes of childhood. He went through all the turbulence of youth, and when the storm clouds passed, who was standing there waiting for him? Yuki. With his fathers encouragement and support he became the best at his sport. He also unexpectedly became quite popular. Now, every four years Apolo is hit with a flood of strangers screaming I LOVE YOU!!! Two years in, that tide ebbs, but who's still standing there? You guessed it. The one who REALLY loves him. The one who flies in hundreds of miles to bring meds when he's sick. I believe Apolo has developed a deeper appreciation for those in his life who truly mean something to him, and who he means something to. I'm certain Yuki tops that list.

If Apolo was born when his mother was 18 then how old was she when 30 something Yuki got her pregnant? 17? That is statutory rape. And it wasn't the first time. Am I totally off base here? Sara well i have heard things but wa unsure of the truthfullness..way back I poeted..I mean way back...that my sons best freind is japanese w/ a japanese dad and american mom...and I am sure how willingly she left his life..i do not mean anything criminal of course..in any way shape or form..justthat the dad told me in japanese culture is very shameful for a wife to divorce you..and I have always felt..with no basis in fact I admit..just my own idea...that it was basically said you want to go..then go but the baby stays here that is not very uncommon...JMHO..don't jump me please!!! LOL thats what was told to my mom... |

Sara, it's possible that she was 18 when they married, and she might have been nearly 19 when Apolo came along. I don't know the particulars.
There was a sixteen-and-a-half year age difference between my dad and my mom, so large age differences don't seem so strange to me. My parents actually had a very good marriage, although I think my dad protected and sheltered my mom a little too much. My mom told me that when my dad first met her, his first reaction (he thought this to himself) was, "She's too young!" I guess they both got past that, lol. My mom told me that the hardest part was getting used to his friends...since they were older, they tended to have different interests.
My best guess is that Apolo's mom just wasn't emotionally ready to be a wife and mother. Some women are ready at 18...but probably most are not. I personally can't see ever abandoning your child, though.
