I don't know why they have this 'reflective material' on the skinsuits lmao...funny though! Oh, I get it now. That must be the kevlar impregnated material protecting his femoral artery, not to mention the family jewels. why is the 'thing' shining?

You know how the suits have certain areas that are reinforced with kevlar to protect arteries from cutting blades in a fall? Well this is one of those areas. I'm still a little confused because all the kevlar I've seen was not reflective. Then again, I never shot a flash at it either. Normally it looks flat gray.

The shiny areas in the photos are the areas of the skinsuit where they have a special friction-reducing material (where body parts rub together - between thighs and under arms at the sides). It reflects light from the flash.
The cut-proof material is inside their suits, you don't see it on the outside.

Of course, when I look at Apolo's loins, REDUCING friction is not MY objective.

The shiny patches on their skins is to keep friction to a minimum when they are racing and their thighs are rubbing.

If he's an illusionist, Torino, how do you know that's really his body?

yeah, I don't know how they do it, but Jay, Majestic and a couple of others always seem to be able to pull 'em out of their hats when we are all just about to give up hope. Susie also came up with some great ones in Washington DC.
