 caption for this pic : the coach is really bending Apolo's ears.... does that mean the coach is babbling to apolo? Jay, I love this photo. This pic could easily go under the "hair" thread as well -- doesn't his hair look great? As for the meaning of that figure of speech -- you got it about right. When you "bend someone's ear" you are talking to them for a *long* time about something that is important to *you* but may not necessarily be important to *them*. Notice that Apolo isn't looking at the guy in this photo -- normally he looks directly at whomever is talking to him -- suggesting that this guy has been talking nonstop. |

Apolo looks so beautiful with a hat on   Elle, what a cute picture! Apolo could definitely be a "hat guy" if he wanted to be one. The hat acts as a frame for that gorgeous face. I wonder where this photo was taken? |

^It's from the Met RX Superstars show that aired back in the summer of '02. It was a sports challenge competition with professional athletes. There were a few pro football players, boxers etc. competing along with Apolo. There was swimming, biking, an obstacle course challenge, jet skiing, and basketball. Apolo won the swimming and biking challenges! it was awesome, cause Apolo was the smallest guy there lol. And he even tackled a football player in the water, and the guy was impressed that Apolo took him down lmao ;D

Thanks for the info, enelyak -- I've heard about that show, but I haven't seen it. It doesn't surprise me that he won the swimming and biking challenges. He tackled a football player?  He's not lacking in courage, is he?  |

 i'm liking that he's staring at the camera.....i would definitely be blushing if a man stares like that to me LOL No, don't blush. A guy looks at you like that, you smile and wink. That is, if you are interested in meeting him. And with Apolo, that would be a definite yes as far as meeting him. Susie smiles and winks at Apolo! Hey, waaaaait a minute! Isn't that the white bandana that I had my heart set on? *sob*  That's okay, Apolo -- you can make it up to me, lol.  |

You're not weird, Jay. I used to blush a lot...now it's just sometimes. But I know what it's like...when you feel your face flushing, you just want to turn tail and run.
I really like the look in his eyes in this photo...there's a mischievous quality there.

Someone once told me, "Look into the lens like you are looking at a lover," and goodness knows I try, lol. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Whether he was trying to or not, he is really flirting with the camera there. I noticed on the tape of his arrival at the White House that from the minute that he entered the alcove, his eyes went searching for the cameras (...at least, that's how I'm interpreting it.) He often looks into the lens of the camera directly the same way that he looks into people's eyes directly. It's all good. |
