Ok, I just want to make a bit referral of this particular thread. I have read the "old" thread. I never thought one way or another about it, and the "controversial" comments did give it some spice. Now, I read this board, and I feel like I am going to have to go to my dentist on Mondeay to make sure I didn't get any cavities from all this sugar shock going on. Also, doesn't this remind you a bit about the Simpsons, in which there was this episode where parents complained about the content on Itchy & Scratchym, so they changed the formula on that cartoon, and the kids were like "WHAT??!!!" and turned off the tv and started to go outside. IDK, this whole scenario reminds me of that little episode. I could not have said this any better Warhorse. |

I, for one, didn't see MOST of the comments aimed at Allison but I will say one thing in the mods defense here...
On ALL the boards I go to, which I said are ALL 18+ but this one, and all of those boards have guidelines about NOT bashing the person's spouses, girlfriends, family members, etc. I mean, if you are there for them because you like and admire them ( the person the board is for, in this case Apolo ) whether or not you APPROVE and/or LIKE their situation, it's just out of sheer respect and consideration that you keep SOME THINGS off limits.
I mean, you may not like that Apolo has a girlfriend or have some reason WHY you don't like Allison and that's cool, but do you have to publicly bash her on HIS board? Sometimes, these people DO come in and check out what people are saying about them, etc. you know. Would you REALLY want Apolo to come in here and see you guys BASHING on the woman he loves? How would that make YOU feel if you were him or someone else?
It's just NOT cool or necessary to do that to these people on a public board, IMHO. Shows no class or any restraint of emotions, not to mention amount of maturity level. To me, that stuff is best left to PM status.
And feel free to disagree with me, I don't care one way or another, but just think about what I said and not just FLAME me because I disagree with you. I have a right to my opinion just as all of you do to YOURS!

Warhorse, has it occurred to you that the members who say nice thing about Allison are not being "sugary" but sincere? I know that I have been very sincere in everything I have said about her.
Perhaps it is just me but I don't treat my fellow human beings the way a couple of the members were treating Allison. It's one thing to say "Apolo can do better" or "I wish Apolo were dating me instead of Allison" but it is another to say "Allison is a (fill in derogatory word." Those are the posts I deleted. I know it makes life a little more boring to always be respectful of other people, but in my opinion, it is the right thing to do. I don't trash celebrities or anyone else for that matter, no matter how much I may dislike them personally. It is also beyond me how anyone can claim to be an Apolo fan and than treat his girlfriend like dirt. What if someone said, "I love you, I adore you, you are wonderful" and then proceeded to bash someone you cared about. I think it is very disrespectful to Apolo.
Having said that, I won't be deleting any more posts on this thread. I will leave that to Lindsey's discretion. In fact I probably won't even be back to visit this thread. I just wanted to give my two cents worth before I leave it.

Bashing someone senslessly is ridiculous, i mean if people get out of hand tell them to stop, but when its something like o dont think shes very pretty, or Hes too good for her, thats thats persons own opinion let it be im not saying go off and say shes the worst human being on the planet cause shes obviously not. im just glad hes dating her and not some like lindsey lohan or Hilary Duff |

Why is it that if you don't come out and say something like 'I hope they last forever' then you are viewed as a hater? The fact of the matter is this. WE don't know anything about this couple. We don't. We don't know if he loves her or how he feels about her. Again, until Apolo talks about her out of his mouth like he does about Shani and his dad, then I can't assume anything. And another thing  Anybody has the right to post whatever they want about this topic on this thread. If Warhorse feels like she is drowning down a bucket of maple syrup when she looks at this thread, then she has the right to say that. And if you want to post pics about them, then fine, do it and be done. But just like somebody else has the right to say they hope they last forever, then somebody else has the right to say, they don't think they will last at all. Let all opinions be respected and reflected. |

And since when has anybody got on here on called that girl out of her name??? I mean really??? It's not that serious! ON both sides.
Nobody needs to be calling her out of her name. The only name she should be called is Alison.
And nobody really needs to defend her to the cows come home either! It's not that serious to be defending somebody or some relationship that you really know nothing about.
As I said before, looking cute together don't mean crap! And again, and as I always say;
A picture maybe worth a 1000 words, but probably 10 of them are actually right.
We don't about that man or his relationships, if you like the couple, then post your pics and move on.

Geesh, I put in a little post on how sugar coated this place has gotten, and look at the way people jumped on me. It's almost hypocritical in the way things are playing out.
Ok, when I view message boards, I see it as a hi tech gossip page. So you are going to get hypothesis, speculations, accusations and opinions.
IDK, it's just I went away for a few days and come back, and this board is like on pins and needles now, and I wonder why that is?

I know now. And to be honest, I have not said one word about Allison, good, bad or otherwise. I might have asked how high she got in her short track career, because I have my doubts. I think she could be riding in on Apolo's coat tails, but I dont know, that's pure specualtion on my part, and it holds absolutely no water because I dont know anything about the girl. Nothing! Sure, she has fire on the track, her quick reactions to get up after that fall and continue with the race prove that. But overall, I wasn't too thrilled with her performance at the Olympics. Maybe she was just spooked by all them Italian ghosts!
