If I could choose one, non-sexual/romantic event to do with Apolo it would probably be eating sushi. But then, that would end up being a real turn on for me. OK, swimming lessons ...... nope, definitely gonna get naked with that. Maybe skiing .... arg, gotta do the bunny on the bunny slopes. It's hopeless. He's just too irresistable.

MT, I just saw your post with a question about Apolo's car crash in the 'chat room' thread and it made me realize why I like seeing pictures of Apolo and Shani together. I read Apolo's autobiography a couple of months ago and in it he says the two of them were in his SUV after skating practice. Apolo was driving and, unbeknownst to him, encountered some black ice which made the car slide into a median.

He said that when he looked over at Shani and asked if he was okay, the truck rolled twice into oncoming traffic and "crumpled like tin foil." He said he was afraid he was going to die and that he thought his "best friend, Shani, was going to go, too." It was a very hard passage to read and as you can see stuck with me.

So knowing that, along with some of the skating-related battles/controversies they've gone through both individually and together, it makes me happy to see them just having a good time together, with or without their teammates.

And of course, it doesn't hurt that they're both easy on the eyes.

I like skaters doing things off ice that are related to undressing themselves. And until the rest of them catch up with the clothing-hating Dutch, I'm sad to see that this is all we get.

Was anyone else stunned at the sound of Shani's voice? It's so odd. It vaguely reminds me of a muppet.

Mind boggling at trying to see Shani as a Muppet .....

USS is in some financial dire straights currently. They could save money if the skaters went naked. Every little bit helps. (Every big, uh, bit inspires.)

Now there are some sweet smiles. Apolo had to train to beat Shani so he could stand on a higher step and be eye-eye with his bud.
