Ohnoagain, thanks for clearfying everything! How long have you been a nurse? I'm more scared about the stuff that cleans me out more than the surgery itself. I'm sucha paronoid human being. When I get paranoid I like to think about Apolo and that makes me feel much better. He has no idea how special he is to me. That's so cute that your grandkids know about Apolo and wear bandanas just like him. He's so good with kids too. I'll keep you updated as well as everybody else. Monday I'm probably getting the pregancy blood test done at my hospital. Only 4 days left of freedom..

I hear that's the worst part of the colonoscopy, I'm supposed have had mine 3 years ago. I don't know which one your Dr. is giving you, there a few kinds out there. The gallon sweet drink, followed my pills. or an emema, since you're having colon surgery, I'm sure you're getting the strongest one. You'll be in the bathroom for a while, but once you're cleaned out, your're cleaned out. I've been a nurse for over 25 years.........Wow, I've been a nurse since Apolo's been born.............yuk........just thought of that...............my granndaughter's can only wear the bandanas when I'm there. There is this player on the Buffalo Sabres that is also 25, his name is Maxim Afinogenov and I love him almost as much as Apolo. I taught my then 2 year granddaughter ;D old how to say his name, she couldn't even say her own, but I sat there for hours teaching her how to say it, giving her little treats when she did it. So, one day out of the blue, when we were at dinner, I said, Bella, Maxsim, and she said it so loud and clear "Afinogenov". Talk about my daughter having a pop spitting moment at the table in front of a bunch of people eating. And she looks at me and asks me when I taught her that. I told her "what do you think I do when I watch them, just plop them in front of the TV and sit. I teach them important things. Like hockey players names and things about Apolo" She thinks I should teach them stupid stuff like numbers and the alphabet. I told her that's her job, I've been there and done that 4 times over. This is GRAMMA time, and I love it..............

I've had a colonoscopy done before. It's not fun. Drinking the stuff was the worst of it all. I must have vomited two times. But I think that's only because my colon was inflammened. That's so funny! When I have a child I'm sure I'll talk about Apolo nonstop. Buffalo Sabres is a baseball team, right?

No, it's our National League Hockey Team, so close to the Stanley Cup last year, yet so far. Now, onto the Buffalo Bills. I have season tickets to them, but acck, they lost 4 Superbowls, IN A ROW in the early 90"s and haven't been in the playoff's in years, but what the heck. What else is there to do in Buffalo but eat wings and shovel snow?? But it really is the City of Good Neighbors and I've never seen or heard of a community that pulls together like Buffalo when it has to.

I'm sorry, ohnoagain, I'm so slow, but where's Buffalo? I hope your team wins..My dad is so into football. He enjoys watching the Eagles but everytime they get to the superbowl they always lose. Last year my mom won this Eagles bear at a fair and we put him near the tv just for the fun of it. That bear helped us win like 6 games in a row or something. It was quite funny. My dad yelled at us if we touched it or moved it. Philly hasn't been good at sports in years.

Hi Jenna, Buffalo is in New York, the western part of it. Right off Lake Erie, a stones throw from Canada. So, of course the Buffalo Bills is my football team and the Buffalo Sabres the hockey team. We are the orginators of the Buffalo Chicken wings. Niagara Falls, both New York and Canada are only 30 minutes from me. Hope that helps you!!!

I've been to Niagara falls ten years ago. I loved it. My family and I rented a Winabego and we drove there. It kept breaking down tho but I enjoyed it cause I was just a kid. Good luck to your hockey team.

Hi Jenna, No, don't go to Canada too much, pain in the butt to go over the Peace Bridge. Sometimes, especially on the weekend a 4 hour wait to cross over back to the US is common. But, I do go once a year to the NY side to see the Falls, you never get tired of seeing it. And it's gorgeous in the winter, and around Christmas when they add the lights over the Falls. I'll see if I can get some pics this year and send them to you. The water freezes and the ice and all, truly a beautiful site.

You can see the falls from NY! That's amazing! I bet it is beautiful. I would love to see the photos, that's so nice. I'm supposed to get my pregnancy blood test tomorrow. I'm still nervous but I'm sure things will turn out well. I also will have my appendix out because it was abnormal in one of the x-rays.

You know, they will sometimes just take it out when they do abdominal surgery because why have it flare up in the future when it's not needed anyway. But, times have changed and some Dr.s refuse to because if it's healthy, why run the risk of infection. Yes, the Falls is shared ( if that's the term ) by both NY and Canada. You can look across the Falls and see Canada and vice versa. I sadly admit the Canadian side is much prettier, kept up than the American side. I mean NY has it's pretty parts, nice areas to eat and sit, nice hotels. But Canada has so much more. It's so funny, because there is a Hard Rock Cafe in both NY and Canada and you can see them both from either side. And they are a stone's throw from the other. Casino's too. But the Falls is such a wonder to see. You never get tired of it, and you can stare at it all day. And on a hot summer day, you just never want to leave, the mist rises up and it's like a sprinkler. When you feel better, you'll have to come up again. I'll take you around.

That would be nice! ;D I've been to the Hard Rock Cafe in Philly. Never knew that there was one in Canada, very interesting. I would love to go back and take a picture of the falls. In the future I wish to be a photographer. I love the colors of the atmosphere..it's so pretty. Anyway, my surgeon did hesitate when my mom asked him if he was taking the appendix out. It's kinda scary thinking about having two parts of your body being taking out.

Jennifer, is there any way you can arrange for someone in your family to update us here on how things go for you with your surgery, just in case you don't feel up to it for awhile?
