I used to do gymnastics on my swing set, stuff like they do on the uneven parelle bars in the olympics. I think I wasn't very good.

I could go higher than anyone. I also use to love to ride my bicycle way out into the country. Of course what was way out in the country then is in the middle of the city now. LOL.

It's amusing to think of all of us as kids! BBP, nice thread! Laura, your post just cracked me up!!! I tried monkey bars a while back. I could get across the rungs all right, but unfortunately my feet were still touching the ground. They make them a little shorter than they used to...or something... lol...

I know about all the hot sand now, but did we just not notice it as kids? I can't remember ever burning my feet or anything... Maybe my feet were tougher then.

I love swings and I still get on them and swing given the opportunity.
I teach first graders, and sometimes I'll get on the playground equipment with the kids during playtime (they love it.) Or if we're playing dodgeball, I'll get in the center with some of the kids and let the other kids in the circle see if they can hit me. When we play "Duck, Duck, Goose" I'll sit with them in the circle, and most of the time I'll say, "Don't pick me." But sometimes I'll let them pick me and then I have to get up quickly when I'm tapped and run like a maniac around the circle. The kids think that this is hilarious. Taking the kids outside when it's a pleasant, warm day is one of the nicest things about the job.

I miss the swing set too. *sniffles* Haha jk. But I loved to swing. I remember going down the slide and burning my legs off. Youch! The long slide. I didn't climb, not big on heights! I used to walk a lot. Now if I walk down this hill out here, and try to go back up it, my legs turn to rubber, the big bay horse is better at than I am, of course, she has four legs, not two. LOL!
