I am extremly happy right now! I woke up this morning, and just as I was getting out of bed, the phone rang. Well, it was the New England Culinary Institute. They were calling to see if I was still interested in their program, which I am. Well, I talked to the lady for about a half hour, and I am going to be getting a lot of information about the program, and they are going to try to find me a alum of the institute to get in touch with since I cannot go all the way to Vermont. I do not know if they do this for every prospective student, or if they just feel like I would be a good addition to the school. It just seems odd, that they are doing all this for one person, who isn't even sure if they are going to go to the school. I have my heart set on going to culinary school, I just don't know which one. I am looking a New England Culinary Institute, Culinary Institute of America, Kendall Culinary Institute, and Culinary Institute of Boulder, Colorado. Looks like my dream of becoming a chef really is going to come true.

If you need to practice, please come here. I'll turn the kitchen over to you and do all the shopping and cleaning. I used to love to cook and try new things. Now that I have to provide 3/7 for the worlds pickiest eaters, it has sadly become drudgery.
Did you ever read that mystery series where the main character is a chef (in Col I think) and fills the book with the most scrumtiious recipees. Oh, yum.
Gotta go steam some plain rice, plain chicken and raw carrots for the kids who only like food invalids are forced to eat.

Plain...Plain...I think my eyes are bleeding...not even some salt? Oh My word! No salt. He will put ketchup on his spaghetti noodles sometimes. Never spaghetti sauce. The only thing interesting and remotely healthy they'll both eat is pancakes. I get pretty creative with those (if he can see the fruit, he won't touch it). There's one recipe in the recipe section. If you can tell me how to do a similar one for waffles, I'd love it. I get so BORED. Oh yeah, for vegetables, he'll eat raw carrots or salsa. Plain peas, if I threaten. That's it. She'll eat sweet potatoes, baked, with a tad of butter, a bit of brown sugar and cookie sprinkles. His diet is healthy and lean but NO variety. Her's is carbs, carbs, carbs. They love me going to school. I couldn't figure it out. I felt so guilty with their dad gone and me in class 3 nights a week. Then I realized what it was - they get pizza at least once a week now. (The baby sitter can't be trusted to warm water in a microwave.) I now own stock in Dominos and all I have to do is call and say "the usual." They have my credit card memorized. Once, I was running late and forgot to call, they showed up on schedule anyway. I'm not sure this is a good thing. It doesn't take a village to raise a child but you at least need a good pizza place.

I think I finally made (a rather obvious) connection there. Elle did something that turned my display to wide screen? It wasn't me being a techno dumbf**k? Naughty elle. Ruffian, please, for the sake of your country, rethink your career objectives. You must use your powers for good. Well, maybe not good, but at least something worthwhile and exciting like chasing down errant canook skaters and spiking their ears while redesigning their skinsuits. (that last would arguably be a strike against evil.) I've learned more useful computer crap from you in a few posts without you even trying then in two grad level computer classes.

MT if I thought for even a nano second that I could make even a buck off of my knowledge of messageboards, I wouldn't be trying like hell to come up with an answer to how the dumbass peloponnesian war effected history as a whole! Unless you think I could cobble a career together out of chasing canooks? I have a sneaking suspicion I could corner that market like a bunny in a carrot patch and make it say "ow!" And by the way, are they gonna come up with new skinsuits for the next season (and when does that start?)? Because I'm itchin' to see what travesty they outfit those boys in next.

Ruffian! Please, slowly step away from the bottle of booze! You need a nap. Angel? Congratulations! Go for it. I hope you end up being the best chef in this country! ;D

You could always ask Noelle, she works for AOL. (About better use for your talents AND the skinsuits.) She also has made a (non-paying) career out of chasing skaters around so she might have some ideas there. Truly, there are lots of professions out there crying out for your talent. The trick is finding them. If you can play with a message board so astutely, you could probably pick up all other clever on-line stuff. You could sure help out universities trying to offer courses on-line. God, some of them are such a frickin mess.

Torino...I do need a nap. lol No she doesn't (did I say that?) and I suspect the rather large bill for operating OZ comes out of her regular pay check. I don't think people send in contribs as often as they should. I sent in one via the paypal account and my hubbie got a msg to that effect. He sends me an email around the time of the Olympics asking what I had bought from the "Oh! Zone" and would he get to play too when he got home? What a disappointment for him and a laugh for me.
