I think there are good and bad shows on cable/satellite and network TV but I tell ya, for as many channels as you get for cable/satellite, me and hubby are still amazed at how much "crap" is on at any given moment and we look at one another and say "there's nothing on TV!" LOL! On cable/satellite, I really like "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy", "The Daily Show", most anything on either the National Geographic Channel or Animal Planet, and some stuff on the A&E and Bravo Channel. Depends on my mood, really....

I kinda meant shows like the ones they show on HBO, Showtime, etc like: Six Feet Under Sopranos Soul Food Nip/Tuck Rescue Me The Shield I meant shows like that. Drama and quirky dramedies Are those kind of shows better than the network shows?

Can't help ya there, I don't get HBO or Showtime. Nip/Tuck is shown on one of the cable networks. We see it on one of them all the time. I watched it for a bit but then, it reminded me way too much of why I left L.A. and that "lifestyle" in the first place. Creeped me out too much. Too realistic for me, anyhow.

NIp/Tuck is set in Miami. Miami has a booming plastic surgery business. So many people want to look like stars and celebrities. Wanting to look perfect Okay, so anybody watch these kinda of shows??? Come on, you mean to tell me that nobody watched like Sex In The City? Or The Sopranos?? Or Oz?

There we go. Okay one for Oz so far.
I am a big fan of Nip/Tuck but I don't have cable. I got the show's DVDs and I had never seen the show but brought the DVDs, Season 1 and 2 without even seeing the show. I brought it on the reviews that everybody in the world was giving them.
What other shows??? There is The "L" Word, and some other quirky show called "Curb Your Enthusiam"

If you liked the TV show, "Seinfeld", you'd like "Curb Your Enthusiasm" even better because it stars and is written by "Seinfeld" co-creator, Larry David who is hysterical without even trying. ( The George Costanza character on "Seinfeld" was modeled closely on Larry's life ). I've seen the DVD's for it and it's HYSTERICAL in a bizarre kind of way. I also hear that "Six Feet Under" and "Queer as Folk" are good, as well. FX network has Nip/Tuck ( I had to go and look that up ). Yeah, L.A. is JUST as BAD, if not WORSE than I'm sure Miami is for plastic surgery. It's really INSANE!

What show is based in LA?? Six Feet Under??? Or is that the east coast somewhere???
Oh I know! Entourage is set in Hollywood! Mark Walberg is one of the executive producers and most of the stuff they talk about in the show is based on his life story.
