Thanks to all for thinking of me. Hm...does this mean I have to get a siggie, avi and stuff? I have no idea how to do all of that.

I'm a 57-year-old software test engineer living in the Boston area. A few months back I made an entry in the "How Has Apolo Inspired You" thread, saying that he had motivated me to drop weight and get out and move. Last May, after he won DTWS, I started a journey of jogging and weight loss, having lost 45 pounds and at this point thinking about running a 1/2 marathon in November. I have more weight to lose but am on a roll' i've started cross training and tonight started participating in a women's weight lifting program at the local Y.

I'm a couch potato....but his motivations about dedicating yourself to something and giving 110% has sort of ended up being a mantra.... He has certainly been an inspiration.

Congratulations, Linda! And I am so impressed how Apolo has inspired you! You have to meet him sometime and tell him. Gee, it's your week with him, so be sure to get a chance to tell him! On my week with him I just enjoyed watching him practice at the Oval -- it was wonderful. tee hee!

Thanks, Skaterswaltz...I actually thought of sending him a letter, addressed to othe Oval, with some sort of writing on the outside about 'motivation', thinking that if he got it he might actually open it up and read it. But then there's this piece of me which would feel pretty silly doing that!
