I'd love to know about it if any of you write anything about Apolo in your Live Journals, blogs etc. I just wrote something about him in my LJ if anyone is intersted. rose1966.livejournal.com/ Please forgive me if I am slightly off on anything or don't have the picture lined up under the right paragraph. I did my best to be accurate but am no quite as up to speed as many of you about Apolo.

Really? Hmmm...I wonder why you could not get it. I clicked on the link when I posted it to make sure it worked and it did for me. Sigh! Computers are crazy things...I am finding they all work differently.

Thanks so much, Sintha and LoveApolo. I am glad you liked it. I love that quote, too, Sintha. My main goal was to "introduce" Apolo to those who don't know much about him. I am glad you think I accomplished that.

Rose, that was a lovely and heartfelt tribute! I wish Apolo could read it himself. I'd never read that quote about his mother before. Understandibly bittersweet. You just want to give him a hug after hearing that. I also hadn't seen that picture of him and Allison. Really cute of both of them. God, I hope she's a sweet girl, because he so deserves it. I'm working on their situation, I really am. Right now, I'm about 75% genuinely thrilled for them and 25% sour, green eyed, jealous heifer. What?? At least I can admit it! Point is, a few weeks ago it was like 50/50, so I'm getting much better. Anyway, again, beautiful tribute. Thanks for sharing it!

Thanks, August, for your very sweet comments. I am glad you liked it. Yes, his comment about his Mom (which I got from his book) is very bittersweet, I agree. And I love your honesty about how you feel about Allison.

Rose....that is an amazing bio....really great...I am sad a little about him commenting on his mom like that...although I ncan understand it my mom left at an earlyage because my dad was an alcolic..which is understandable..but she left me behind.... my sons good freind is a japanese american born in japan but raised here and has told me that in their culture..women are often submissive and if his mom wanted to leave..culturally it would have been hard for a japanese born man to accept...that of course is very general so take with a grain of salt...just sharing info

I love the first line about "athlete? as in sports?"! Lol, that's sooo me. I agree with you about how he looks when he wins. He's just beyond happy. I love those pictures. That's an interesting quote about his mother.

Laura, thanks for your nice comments about my Apolo write up. I am so sorry that you went through something similiar. I can't imagine how hard that was. Ruffian, sounds like we have yet something else in common (the sports comment). Apolosfavoritfreak, here is the quote: "If you think about all the athletes in this world and all the people in this world who have given their all toward something and [it]seems like they've done everything right, but they haven't won that medal or they haven't succeeded, is it now all for nothing? Absolutely not! That journey is what is going to shape them for the rest of their lives.
It's those times when you're down and you don't want to get back up [that you] summon the energy, you summon the will to get back up and say, 'you know what? I'm doing this because I love it and I want to give myself the satisfaction of saying I can give 110% and walk away happy regardless of outcome.' That's the ultimate goal."

nice blog rose....i cried when i read his comment on his mother.....i think whether his mother left him or there was something that blocked them from growing up together, apolo should be thankful that his mother did teach him to be what he is now..... i think you guys don't understand my comment, isn't?
