It's kind of slow, waiting for Apolo to skate, so I thought I'd find out what YOU all would ask Apolo if you had a little time for a decent conversation with him. What would you talk about? Maybe if someone else on the board has the answer, they could post that.
My question: "Why do you always say you're 'blessed' as opposed to "lucky' or 'fortunate', etc.?" He kind of answered this in his book, mentioning a belief in God, but I'd like to hear him elaborate on it, especially since it's five years later now.
What would you ask?

If you could describe the perfect life for you now and in the future(with no restrictions)...what would that be?

This is a great question. Thanks for creating the thread.
1) How do you mentally push thru a tough physical workout? What's your thought process?
2) What alternative remedies do you use? accupuncture, reiki/cranio-sacral, etc.
3) Spiritualality vs. religion...do you align yourself more with the spiritual nature of the universe, or are you more religion-specific?
4) Which religion?
5) How often do you get in the 'zone'...is the 'zone' for you when all the stars become aligned for some unknown reason and you achieve the perfect race (500M in Turin, it controlled you more than you controlled it), or is the 'zone' just being in the moment of race (you control it more than it controls you)
6) Boxers or briefs (oh, sorry ... that was already asked and we have the answer)

Excellent questions everyone! I would love to hear the answers to these, too. What are the chances of Apolo dropping in here and answering them?

linmiste, I like your way of making the board fun! I would ask him, What kind of religion do you practice..or is that too personal? or When did you become aware of protecting the environment?

1) You seem very interested in 'living green', and have alluded to business ventures to that effect. What are your ideas? What sparked your interest in environmental concerns? 2) Nikkei Concerns is a charity that seems very close to your heart. Tell me more about it. What other charities interest you? What do you think about Habitat for Humanity, and would you ever be interested in participating in a build? How about Special Olympics - in what ways, if any, could you see yourself getting involved? 3) Where shall we go for lunch? ;D EDIT: LOL, Jenna, we crossed posts on the environmental question - we're on the same wavelength!

I was getting my thoughts together about this and then I see by your post that you're interested in some of my questions ;D... but here goes anyway!)(I'm late joining this thread... been out-of-town with my hubby today, buying front row tickets for the Moody Blues concerts! ) 1) My grandson is majoring in Environmental Engineering... what specific area would you, Apolo, want him to pursue... managing trash or development of alternative fuels? 2) Would you consider being the main speaker at opening ceremonies for Special Olympics? You would be such an inspiration for the *special athletes*! 3)How about lunch at your favorite Sushi restaurant or dinner at the Korean restaurant... to have a conversation in Japanese???

My Questions for Apolo Apolo says all the time that his dad is his inspiration. One question I would ask Apolo would be where he thinks his dad gets his inspiration. I think it would be interesting to find out. I would also ask the the corny question of if he could eat dinner with anyone dead or alive who would it be? I know he has probably been asked this question a thousand times, but I know we all want to know the true answer of what qualities he looks for in a woman.

That 3rd question sounds fun, Lily! I wish I knew Japanese.. Who are the Moody blues? Jennaceeta... the Moody Blues are a British rock band from the 60's. A few of their most famous songs are: NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN, TUESDAY AFTERNOON and I'M JUST A SINGER IN A ROCK AND ROLL BAND... and many more I won't list... LOL! This band still tours world-wide and comes to the U.S. for many concerts. There are many of us that attend frequently and we (the fans) have gotten to know each other and have stayed at the same hotels as the band... and have had friendly encounters with them. Lily

I would also ask the the corny question of if he could eat dinner with anyone dead or alive who would it be? Christi, he was asked a similar question once. I think the question was 'if you could have a conversation with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?', and he answered 'Abraham Lincoln and Jesus'. He may have added a third, but I don't remember. I'll look for the article, and if I can find it quick, I'll edit to add his exact answer.. EDIT: I found it! Here it is... Q: If you could host the ultimate dinner party, which three people (dead or living) would you invite and what would you eat?A: “Abraham Lincoln—I just want to talk to him. I’d just like to see what he really says, what his true feelings were. We have what’s on paper and what people wrote about him. So I would like to see from his mouth what he was going through especially to be in a position like that. I would invite Jesus because that would be insane. And then I guess I would like to meet the very first of the Ohno family from Japan. And food—we would have whatever they wanted. Whatever Jesus wanted, whatever the man wanted—I’m not saying we’re not going for Mexican; hey if they want nachos, they can have nachos. They can have whatever they want, this one’s on me.” If you want to read the entire article (it's pretty interesting), it's toward the end of Page 1 on the 'Apolo Articles' thread on the General Board - it was Jennaceeta's post...

Everyone's offered some really fantastic questions. It amazes me how the same questions are always re-hashed in Apolo's interviews and yet, we've managed to come up with some pretty well thought out new ones for him.
Here are mine:
What do you feel are your social responsibilities as a public figure in the spotlight? Do you value that role and take it seriously or do you sometimes resent it?
What was your first major purchase following your Olympic success? What do you now indulge in now that you couldn't before?
What aspect of your 'new’ lifestyle have you become especially accustomed to and would have a difficult time giving up now?
As an elite athlete, you’re able to be a voice for a lot of people. If you were able to use that voice for good, what ‘platform’ would you be most passionate about?
If you could be any other athlete in any other sport, who would you choose to be?
Is success and fame all you thought it would be or has the drastic change in your lifestyle (by necessity) sometimes caused frustration?
Do you read your reviews? If so, how influenced are you by critical ones?
It’s obvious you have a very diverse fanbase and though it’s evident everyone appreciates your many talents, people are just as impressed with you as a person. Why do YOU think the fans love you and relate to you?

Wow! so many great questions- what's left to ask? But we'll give it a go. 1) You have traveled all over the world, is there anyplace you haven't been yet that you would like to visit? 2) What was your favorite subject in school? (...and P.E. doesn't count...) 3) You have had so many wonderful experiences in life - but do you have any regrets or opportunities you would have handled differently? 4) What is the most embarrassing thing you've ever done? (That you'll admit to, anyway) 5) If you had a whole day off to do whatever you pleased (that DOESN'T include skating or work) Describe your "Perfect Day". 6) Have you ever met a random stranger or individual, who unbeknown to them, left a lasting impression on you?
