Do you think Apolo will settle down eventually if he meets the right person?I think he would make an awesome dad and I know he is young but I wondered your thoughts on this?

I think he will. He said in an interview once that he eventually will marry, in 400 years... He would make an awesome dad too. He's so good with kids.. ;D Here's the interview: What are the three places that someone who has never been to Seattle has to go to? “Pike Place Market—it’s the fish market. It’s down by the water, always a lot of fun, and lots of energy. It’s always packed, lots of tourists, but it’s a lot of fun. There are a lot of trendy neighborhoods now in Seattle, a lot like San Francisco, but not as busy. I think the people in Seattle are generally really nice—well except for the drivers, they get a bit crazy. And then we have a very big selection of foods. We have people from all over who own authentic, real places. It’s not a Chinese restaurant owned by a Hispanic person; it’s really a Chinese restaurant owned by a Chinese person. So, we have a lot of really good restaurants in Seattle. We have a lot of culture there too from all over.. I love Seattle and would love to raise a family there… in about 400 years.”

His non-ST life, or adult life, is just starting, really. I think he has a lot of stuff to experience before he marries. But when he does, it will be a lucky girl. That said, I believe Julianne will always hold a special place in his heart.

ITA, Kirkland. I don't think he's had a lot of opportunity to "date"l ike most guys his age do. From what I've read, he's had two noted relationships: the one he wrote about in his autobiography when he was training for the 2002 Olympics, and the relationship with Allison, which sounds like it was basically on again/off again despite the fact that they lived in the same training complex. He really needs to "date": meet someone, ask her out, have dinner, go dancing, etc., etc., etc. Like he said, he's not the "your place or mine" kind of guy, so I really think he would enjoy "wining and dining" a nice woman. But I don't think he's had much opportunity to do this.
And, missy, I soooo think he is the kind of guy to settle down. It's the way he talked about his girlfriend in his book, about how much he respected her. And his "life partner" comment in that online interview. Isn't that a strange name for a 25 year old, single, hot athlete to choose for a ride representing himself? I only worry that it might be difficult for Apolo to find someone who is both physically attractive to him AND mentally challenging. I am sure that's why so many people believe he met his match in Julianne. She is not only beautiful, but she is goal-oriented, hard-working and disciplined. In addition, however, I think there is a depth to Apolo's character, that comes from loss and pain and overcoming the odds, and I think Apolo is looking for someone who understands that and maybe has experienced that herself.

I can totally see him being a dad later on in his 30's.I don't regret having kids in my 20's but it isn't for everyone.

I definitely see Apolo settling down and marrying with children and won't that be fun to watch. His kids are going to be so cute and if they follow in his footsteps ... well I'm sure we'll have another winner representing our country. I can see that happening and not in 400 years. When Apolo's skating career slows down and he has more time in his schedule I think his thoughts will turn this way. But for now for him it's not in his present future. But one never knows. We've all been surprised a time or two in our own lives. That's what makes life exciting. Hey, here's an idea Who would like to be his Nanny??!!!!

Well I'll let Apolo know when he's ready that you want the job. You got first DIBS. Have you ever watched Super Nanny? I think that's what it's called. It was on last night. I know you're young but it would do you good to watch it so you can brush up on your Nanny 101 so you get the job with Apolo.

I agree, he's going to be a great dad. I wonder when he will "officially" stop skating. He said he'll stop when it isn't fun anymore.

Let's hope he stops if it isn't fun and not due to an injury. I like to see the end of my favorite athletes careers (Alexei Yagudin) be on their own terms and not due to injuries.

I think he'll be an excellent dad. He's learned to put his kids first, to stand between them and danger and to never give up on them. I've seen many fathers not do half of that. Apolo will know better. The only thing I can add to that is just love love love love them and pray for the best. I think he'll do just fine.

Maybe he'd prefer a more mature woman, who is raising/has raised a child. I'm putting in my application. All's fair in love and war, right?
