Prague is where Apolo had to go on his own in 2004, pay his own way to the World Cups because the US Speedskating didn't go. He won gold in the 1000 m.

7 Oh the hint helped -- Apolo pointed out that he was 7 years older than Julianne, yet she keeps telling him to "Be a man! Be a man!" [then in a falsetto voice he said: "Do this! Do that!"] Is that it? [oh and Apolo is actually 6 years and 2 months older than Julianne as any A & J 'shipper could tell ya] I'll come back with an edit when I think of something to ask for! I don't even know if I'm right or not -- but I've come up with one (at least I don't think it's been asked before - this game is getting hard!) PRAGUE Yes you are exactly right!

Good job callie! And the only other American who went was Allison Baver There were two different sponsors (I assume Apolo and Allison each got a sponsor to pay their way.) The US Speedskating federation had money troubles and that's why they canceled their team's attendance at this 5th World Cup of that season -- and Apolo had already missed the 3rd one so he managed this one on his own. Well he did have one teammate.

Just Allison and him, huh? All alone together? Interesting. Lucky Allison. Were they already rumored to be together at that time?
My connection is "They're all paddle shifters."

Paddle shifters refers to the interview he did in LA I think on one of the morning shows and they were talking about racing cars and the anchors were going to do a anchor challenge and the one anchor said do you know how to drive a stick shift and the other guy said something and Apolo's response was"They're all paddle shifters" would make sense I am sure he is a Nascar fan too. As for the Prague thing I don't wanna think about what happened behind closed doors (silly Missy get your mind out of the gutter) Here is my connection~ Szekesfehervar,Hungary

Me too! I did find out this much about the Prague travel arrangements (from OZ, early Feb '04): "Yuki & Apolo flew to Prague on a Monday – Allison arrived on Wednesday." [Then after the competition, they went from Prague to Bormio, Italy]: "Apolo, Allison and Yuki arrived here from Prague in the middle of the night on Tuesday. There was some confusion with their transportation to Bormio and they wound up waiting at the airport several hours for the Canadian and Chinese teams to arrive from Prague so the bus could take them all up to Bormio. They had no complaints though, as they were able to use the time to work on their dryland technique inside the airport terminal and review videotape." There are some great pictures of Apolo, Allison, and Yuki in the airport, studying the heat lists - and Apolo doing a very flexible stretch - sitting on the floor with legs spread out, bent over with his face touching his knee or calf... Shame I'm too stupid to bring the picture over but if you scroll down a ways it's on this page: www.ohnozone.net/archives/2004/02/08-week/index.html

So they didn't go together and they weren't alone. Oh, well. What he says about his father on his official Olympic bio. His father raised him by himself, leaving a strong impression on the teen-ager. "I believe my father has and always will be the strongest influence in my life, as he has guided me on many paths." www.usoc.org/26_746.htmBreaststroke (the swimming style!)

At age 12, Apolo was the breast-stroke champion for the state of Washington.
How about "sharing shirts"
