I had absolutely no doubts that he and Julianne were going to win it. I don't think he had doubts either. He'll go through the media frenzy now, just like after the Olympics. It will be interesting to see what's next. Will he continue to be involved in ballroom dance? Many of the past former winners have gone on to appear and perform in various different capacities. I wonder what's in his contract? My guess is when the media frenzy dies down, he'll go back to full time training and we'll have our skater boy back. But if Apolo has proved anything through this whole process its that he's full of surprises. What an odyssey this has been! Unforgettable! ;D

I can't belive it's actually over. It seems like just yesterday on week one we were all cheering about his quickstep and cha-cha. Now, incredibly, week 10 is over, it's the finale, and he's has won!! I'm really going to miss seeing them together. I hope we get to see more APoLo when this is all done. Lets all just take a moment to soak it all in............and go to the "APoLo Pictures" thread to remember all the good time he and Julianne had. I can't believe we may never see them together again.

You guys must think I'm crazy for being on here this late. I just can't sleep. Somehow, I just can't face the fact that this whole adventure is actually over.

It's ok, tdavis! I couldn't fall asleep for the longest time either. I'm sure my boyfriend thinks I'm insane, cuz all I was saying was, "He won, he won! Aren't you proud of him? I'm so proud of him! He so deserved to win!" for the longest time on the phone. However, I did have to go to bed before you--I have to get up at 6:30 for work and I need my sleep. lol! New pic!

Oh, that pic is beautiful, Lindsey! Thank you! I am trying to think of what it would have felt like to me if they hadn't won. It's like I barely even imagine it. I seriously expected Apolo to win from the very beginning. Of course, I certainly knew the viewing public's voting is always unpredictable in these types of contests. But, I just trusted that if the majority of people really voted for the most talented, dedicated, and charming contestant, Apolo would have it in the bag! And he did! ;D It's odd to me when people interview him and say how his success on the show was such a "surprise" to people. I was not surprised at all!

You know what I found was curious about the Jimmy Kimmel interview....when that one Guillermo guy asked him...what's been better...winning this or the olympics? and apolo was like...well their both different...and kimmel was like dude...? how could you compare them...winning gold olympic to some styraphome trophy w/peaces of shiny plastic?....apolo was still trying to say well they're two different things...which is true...i mean perhaps he was being modest...i mean he can't say....well it's nothing like the olympics duh you moron!!...i mean c'mon...how would julianne feel?...or maybe he was being honest?...who knows...waht I think:...the olympics...you train all your life :basically: for one moment just that one moment...for that glory...for olympic glory...that's something...right?...and dwts?....i mean....really?...i guess what he meant was that he had to work hard at something new...completley new for such a short time :and got freakn good at it if you ask me: and got so far...and won...maybe that's just it...

tdavis - you may be young, but you are an old soul, full of nostalgia and sentiment, which is very endearing Linds - it was hard to fall asleep! so true NYtemptress - I felt really bad for Joey, actually, he was crushed and his family was SOOOOO routing for him. I think all entertainers have a bit of that coc kiness to them... ya can't be an entertainer without it. epiph - I'm with you, not surprised and almost anti-climactic, but loved every minute of it Sini - Apolo was right. It was two different things, two separate journeys. Why make less of either? Apolo wasn't about to. It's so not about the prize at the end - gold medal vs. disco ball trophy. It's about what odds and obstacles, known and unknown, did you overcome to get there, what people did you meet and befriend along the way, what life lessons did you learn. Jimmy Kimel needs to dial 1800getaclue August - perfect sumation! *applause*
