And the judges did say he and Julianne quite possibly have the most potential of all the couples they've seen. The score was 21! Pretty good for the first night, and seeing as he's been so busy that he can't practice.

Ahh, I need to go to bed, but I have to say that Apolo was smokin' tonight!! Fun, flirty, loose...he looked like he really was enjoying himself and that shines through in his dancing! I think he did a really great job for the first time out and I certainly look forward to the weeks to come - I think he's going to stick around for a while!
Alot of posters on the DWTS board agree...he's in the top of the posters picks of the best bets this season. Several I saw have him in the finals, along with Joey & Ian!! Here's hoping!

I am watching it again because I taped it. I love the Bruno's comment:" You are a joy to watch. It's like watching Happy Feet all over again." I also liked Carrie Anne's comment:"For a moment I thought you were the guy from the boy band. Lookin' pretty sexy out there. Your hip action is pretty amazing...it's the athlete in you. I agree that hip action was pretty amazing!!!!  ;D I love how Apolo took in what was being told to him. He seemed to really appreciate the criticism. |

I wanted to say that because this is something important to note. You can have a great partner, and a great teacher to get you up to speed. In fact, all of the partners are good. But it's getting the celebs up to par to be able to compete and become, well, good. That's the challenge, but it's not the whole show. But, if you already are good and can move like Mario and Joey came in last year, then you already got one foot in the door and that makes the partner's work so much easier. I think that Apolo will be like Emmitt, he will get extremely good, extremely fast. And I think that's why they said that he had the most potential out of all the dancers. He has the potential to surpass the ones that kinda came out the gate kinda good, like Joey and maybe Ian, who did a better job moving than I though he would.  |

I must say, I have not been so excited for a television show in a long time. I also enjoyed watching the other dancers and the building up to Apolo. I thought Apolo and Julianne were the most authentic overall, which was lovely to see. And my husband, who's teasing has gotten to a new all-time high in the week leading up to this, surprised me by not only taping the show, but cuddling up and watching it with me! Guess he figured if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. His comment about Apolo: "he sure knows how to use his body... I think he's got a real chance, hon!" (duh!).
And Leila's got nothin' on Julianne. Did you see how she clocked him in the rehearsal footage? POWWW! Right to the moon. Girl was goin' for blood. Take it easy on him Julianne!!! We don't want Apolo toothless!

Apolo danced very well considering the amount of time he had to practice. I bet we see alot of improvement over the next few weeks.
Bella, I had the same experience with my hubby. He's been teasing me for weeks about the show but he actually watched Apolo skate and admitted he did much better than he thought he would.
I had no doubts. The man has style!

I watched it....I can't believe I actually remembered lol!!! I watched for two hours just for him...what a mission...he had such a charisma out there my gosh...you could tell he has an a...a nice body with what he was wearing...! I'm going to go vote next week i wasn't able to...my phone died...what a loser! is it going to be on monday's or tuesdays? cuz I'm working tuesday nights! if anybody could find the video of him dancing upload it please...my mom wants to see it...and I couldn't find it on youtube...thank you!
