I love the new pics number1. It is so great to see new pictures of him again! I would have to say that I like the shorter hair look better. I think he looks more mature and I guess that attracts me to him more. Ohno911groban thanks for the skating results.

new news on ohno zone: www.ohnozone.net/Apolo0064.jpgmen's 500m A final results 1. J.P. Kepka 2. Simon Cho DQ Apolo Ohno - cross-tracking DQ Jordan Malone - cross-tracking "What an exciting race! J.P. surged to the lead from the start and held it for most of the race. Apolo passed him for the lead in the last lap and a half or so. Jordan had a fall towards the end, although I didn't see it at all. Although Apolo crossed the line in first, he and Jordan were both disqualified for cross-tracking. Simon got himself some really valuable second-place points there too. "- Ohnozone

I am going to be at my daughter's house for a Yankee Swap with her friends. But I may have her computer turned and I'll have to keep running to it to check things. I guess I'll have to come out of the closet to her about my secret pastime...following Apolo's career!

I'm curious as to what a Yankee Swap is too! ETA: I'd never heard of this before....and then I hear of it twice in the same day. So....to answer my own question....here you go: www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,318067,00.html

I am going to be at my daughter's house for a Yankee Swap with her friends. But I may have her computer turned and I'll have to keep running to it to check things. I guess I'll have to come out of the closet to her about my secret pastime...following Apolo's career! Well since I live in Boston I'm a Yankee thru and thru (although don't confuse that statement with THE NY Yankees, of which I am not a fan...GO SOX!). HEre's how a Yankee swap works: Let everyone know that there will be a Yankee Swap, and let people know what the gift $$ amt to be spent it. THen everyone buys 1 gift. When you get together, tear up a piece of paper, one for each person playing. Number each paper sequentially and fold it up, throw it in a hat. SO if 15 people are participating, you should have 15 gifts, and 15 pieces of paper representing #'s 1-15. From here on out rules may vary, but the rules I always play by are: Everyone draws a number from the hat at the same time. The person with #1 gets to pick from the wrapped gifts, opens it up and shows it to everyone. The person with #2 does the same, then decide whether they want to keep their gift or "swap" it with anyone who has opened ahead of time. Go all the way until all the gifts are opened. Then the person that had #1 (who didn't get to decide if they wanted to swap) gets to survey everyone's opened gifts and swaps with what they want (or keeps it). GIfts can be gag gifts or gifts with some thought behind it. It is the most fun when you have a bunch of loud people who want to take gifts away from others, not so polite that they say "oh I love this, thank you very much, I'll keep it". In our office (85) people we have a swap. When my nieces and nephews got to be in high school with a bit of cash, we decided to get rid of the regular x-mas swapping and just do a Yankee swap. Means less $$ spent, less of the "What am I going to get for so-an-so", and the kids really made it alot of fun. I have a group of cousins who have been doing this for over 20 years, and the same gosh-darn, god-awful-ugliest tie gets put int he swap every year.... There you have it. Linda

We do a version of the Yankee swap at my work and with my in-laws. However, you can choose to take a gift that has already been opened before you open one. Then, the person whose gift you took can choose to take another gift that has been opened or can unwrap another one. We always have so much fun with it. At work we usually have a theme. This year it was reindeers. We have also done santas, snowmen, Christmas CDs, Christmas ornaments.
