Yes, just give us the main details and then write your tome and post in the Apolo encounters section.

hey guys! i'm sooo sorry about that! i actually stepped away from work just to see him, so of course once i got back to the office, i had to jump right back into work...
anyways, the crowd was a little bit small, but that was to be expected. it was well publicized, speed skating isn't a big deal here, and it was in the middle of the work day so people couldn't sneak out (like i did!) and school just started for some.
but it was nice since it gave us more individual time with him. i couldn't believe how much attention he paid to me...i kid you not. when i talked to him, i was actually caught off guard by how much he was just focusing on me! he really made each person's encounter feel special!
he's a bit smaller in person than thought...but his skin is terrific! i couldn't believe how clear and smooth it was! and to see those beeeautiful teeth up close and person was surreal! ha ha!!
he spoke so comfortably and seems so at ease with everything. i wanted to ask if he was annoyed with the same questions being asked over and over again (ex: will you skate in 2010? do you have a gf? blah blah blah) or if he's fine with it since it's expected comes with the territory, but ididn't get a chance to ask it!
anyway, he talked a little bit about his experience here in hawaii, and and what his olympic life has taught him.
i don't have a photobucket account so sorry ladies....i won't be posting pictures here, but i plan to post something at the OZ so i'll send pictures over there.
my friend's mom works for the hilton (where all the athletes are staying for the filming of the award show)...and he told me apolo's exact room number! i was so tempted to just hang out at the bar in the lobby just for the freak chance that he'd walk by and remember me!
well, ,that's all for now. if you guys have any specific questions, i'd be glad to answer them!
and sorry again for keeping you all in suspense! billie, that picture was hilarious!!!

So, no pictures for us and you been slumin' on OZ, huh? Well, if you post 'em over there someone is bound to snag them and post 'em over here too.
Awesome that he gave you your special moment with him. So, what did you talk about? Did you have him sign anything? Did you have to wait a long time to see him? What types of people were there waiting to see him? What was he wearing? I totally know what you mean about those teeth - they are really blinding, aren't they?

whoa! so many questions...okay here i go: - i dindn't have to wait that long at all. it was a little unorganized at first, so no real line, just who ever was next would jump in next to him. so there were a few people that kind of "cut" infront of me, but that was no problem. overall, there only about 30-40 people there. it was in the middle of the work day so a lot of people coulnd't make it, school just started for some, it wasn't well advertised, plus a ot of people just are that aware of the sport in hawaii (duh!) - we were all given pictures as we walked in to the auditorium, and so i presented that to him to sign. i even gave him a candy lei (supposed to be for his dad, but yuki wasn't there, so i told him HE could eat it if he wanted to...he kinda chuckled), i even gave him a cell phone charm that i got on my trip to japan. he asked if he should open right there, so i was like, whatever! and he did, so i asked if he had a cell phone and he lifted up his shirt to show me his blackberry...i kinda made fun of him for wearing it on his belt (sooo not cool, dude!). i even included a note, and he was gonna open it, but i was like, NO! put it away and read it later! so he kinda laughed. - i asked him about the award show (since none of the local media talked about it until the last 2 days). i told him i called the hilton where the award show was supposed to be, and while the lady knew about it, she said they didn't advertise it on their website since i was supposed to be super hush hush. so i mentioned that to apolo and he was like, Yeah...i heard mahummad ali is gonna be there! (and we all know he idolizes him, right?!) so then i said, whenever celebrities come in to town, they stay at the hilton, and often times locals like to go to the lobby to catch a glimpse (we're pretty reserved here...we don't usually scream and cause a commotion or mob people)...so he was like, No wonder there's all these people just sitting around in the lobby! - by that point, some lady told me there were others still waiting behind me, and i felt guilty about that, so i quickly just said bye. - i was pretty calm and not freaked out. i was trying to be really cool about it, but i tend to talk a lot when i'm nervous. thing is...i WASN'T nervous at all...i just wanted to make a good impression, you know?! what was amazing (i was totally shocked) was the way he looked at me when i spoke! he totally looked me right in the eyes and made like he was totally interested in what i was saying! he could have been thinking all kind of crap in his mind, but at least he made an effort to LOOK interested!! ) LOL! - i only realized later that i forgot to sign the tag on the lei...so i'm sure he's forgotten all about me, by now! - he wore long black pants, a pair of weird looking black loafers (i even took a picture of them), and a nice black silk aloha shirts with white flowers (you guys call them "hawaiian" shirts)...it's the same as in the pictures from the resteraunt. - there were people of all ages, from 4-50 that attended. it was quite special!! PHEW! anything else you guys want to know?! the scent of his breath, how soft his hair is, the color of his undies?! :oP

That comment about all of the people sitting in the lobby is so cute. (Half of them are there to see *YOU*, guy. The other half are there to see Muhammad Ali.) And taryn, you experienced the famous Apolo *eye lock*. Nice, huh?

susie:
oh, GAWD yes! i heard about it and wasn't sure if it was actually true, or just something that smitten girls claim to always happen. but it was real! i was kind of caught off guard by it! i ws like, Whoa...is he really looking right at me? what is he thinking? should i be talking this much? there's so much i want to ask him like: where's your dad? are you gonna hike up diamond head? if so, bring lots of water...it's super hot. wanna hang out later with my friends?! we can show you around if you like!
hm...hiking up diamond head would be nice. of course, it would be super easy for him...while i'd be huffing and puffing behind him. then again, being behind him probably wouldn't be THAT bad of a place to be.
nah, diamond head is so traversed by tourists, that the path is practically paved all the way up to the top, parts of it even have steps and hand rails! plus, it's rather dry, so all the vegetation is dead, which adds to the heat. but when you get to the top, man oh man, the breese is amazing, and the view is amazing!

Thank you for your report, Taryn. It was informative and well written. I enjoyed reading it. Your grade is A-. It would've been an A, but you wrote, "...he lifted up his shirt..." and then you failed to mention any details except for his cell phone Surely you know that is a sin
