My mom is a huge psychotic figure skating fan, she revcoreds evry single televised event of figure skating...

anyway..she is also a HUGE olympics fan and know and condones my obsession with apolo...

she recently brought up to me a ST or LT skater named Kathy Witty{SP}

anywany mom was asking if she an activist against child molestation..
I had to admit I am only an apolo fan and know very little about the sport or other skaters...so she knows I go on here constantly..so I told her I would try to find out??

any info??/

Chris Witty - Long track speed skater - 5 time Olympian (she biked too in summer O. at Sydney ) - 4 medals including a gold from SL and world record - flag bearer in opening ceremonies - she did appallingly bad at Turin and the rumor is, should never have been on the team but USS arranged it because she was their poster child and media magnet (if so, they're disgusting) - revealed she was sexually abused by a neighbor as a child a few years ago and now she does public speaking against child abuse - I don't know if she is a lesbian, but she does have red hair

She withdrew from her last race at Turin (1500m) because her other 2 races went so badly (last place, I think). She withddrew too late for any other skaters to take her place, which irritates me although more at the coaches than her, maybe. She pretty much announced she was done with skating then. She had an amazing career but Turin was a disaster that, apparently, anyone with half a brain could see was over but she was urged and coddled to keep trying and favored, apparently, over others with better records and chances.

She is a shining example of exactly what must lurk in the dark closets of Apolo's mind when he contemplates 2010. However, I think he needn't worry. Does he really think he can lie that well to himself if he just can't make the grade? What about his dad? Sure we fans will cheer him all the way and USS will take him in any condition just for the name recognition and press he brings but he only has to figure out who isn't overwhelmed by his sex appeal or star power or whatever and listen to them if he doubts his own judgement. I'm thinking Rusty would be perfectly pleased to tell him, "you've lost it, old man, hang it up." In fact, maybe a little too pleased and quick to say so.

Here's a test - if you can beat Jordan 50% of the time in an equal race (no injuries etc) you need to be out there Apolo.

Go fast, turn left, Vancouver. (I can't find my smiley dammit)

I know this is not politicaaly corrrect but for me...I would be embarrassed to admit whathappened to her so openly when she works with so many guys....

before everyone starts hating..I have not experienced anything like that...and I of course do notb know what I would do if I had...and I fully admit that what am saying is most likely partb of the overall problem..I jsut would feel so weird guys knowing that about me..

Are LT and ST events held together or separetly??

I think ur right Susie he's only gonna get better at short track (if that's possible.) And he's only gonna get better looking as he gets older. (If that's possible) LOL ;D

They are held separately. They each require a different size ice arena.
