Quoting BBB here: but anyway, i don't think allison needs him - she needs to look around at the people next to her (including katherine) and those that came before her. they did it right.[/quote]
Apparently during those 6 year of "dating" Apolo, one can only assume she learned nothing from him about how to respond graciously to media questons; how not to throw your teammates under the bus; and how to present yourself in a way that you endear yourself to the fans, not alienate them.
Justsayin' I will be happy to join the "sit in."

I mention the above as my point being, I wouldn’t be so quick to put all your stock in everything you hear or read. Mtnme, I hear what you're saying. The trouble is, Allison said pretty much the same sentiments (minus the Harding/Kerrigan connection) in the radio interview that she did from Marquette. So to me, the sentiments reflected in this article were in the same vein, only escalated. That's partly why I found it believable. ETA: Allison has posted a portion of the article, along with a link to the longer article, on her website. There is no further clarification, correction, or comment. It appears that she is standing by the sentiments expressed in the article. BTW, I hope that you do feel free to post here. There's no reason why you shouldn't.

Apolo called Tommy O'Hare "The Roach" all the way through his autobiography, mentioning how much he hated roaches etc. O'Hare had accused Apolo and Rusty Smith of "fixing" the 1000m Olympic Trial race in 2001. An investigation found no evidence of that. There may be more to all this than we know. Allison has had so many injuries, and worked thorough them all. She's a fighter in a sport that sees it's fair share of elbows, hips and aggressive movements. Just watch some of those Chinese girls if you want to see aggresive skating! Inline brings a lot of "attiude" to ST from that sport, and an aggressive stance. We have a lot of skaters come over from inline. Ohno has carefully cultivated his image over the years and knows now how to present himself. He's never had these sort of injuries, especially at the end of a career. Still, I personally prefer the gracious stance.

Hmmm... interesting turn-of-events here... I knew it would come to the surface sooner or later..... I've been enjoying traveling with my Special Olympian Grandson, taking him to Minneapolis, to meet and see David Archuleta, 3 times in one day! After asking Brett what sports he participated in, David wished Brett "Good Luck" in his competitions... and yesterday, the passing of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the Special Olympics Oath, which is quoted under my Avatar, was recited many times during the day. We, serious fans of David, have a saying... "WWDD: What Would David Do?" David would give the *peace* sign, I'm sure...

Lily, I was thinking about you and your grandson yesterday. Eunice Kennedy Shriver had an admirable life. Sk8er, I was hoping that you'd check in. Thanks for your insight.

Despite the fact that I had vowed to never post another thing on GA ever again huh...why?In no way am I condoning what was said about Katherine if these remarks truly were what came out of Allison’s mouth. It may very well be how Allison feels, and she has every right to her feelings, but putting the ‘filter’ on when talking to reporters and the media would probably be a much wiser option. That being said, my own experience with writers and so called journalists has certainly proved to me that 95 percent of what is printed or reported is BS and another 4% on top of that is BS with an asterisk. Elaborate embellishments, quotes taken out of context, deleted information and plain outright fabrication appears to be the norm if it sells more papers, gets more viewers and gets more attention. amen Anyone who has never made a mistake, a social gaffe or said something that they probably shouldn’t have, raise your hand and say ‘aye’. aye...lol!
