Great quality! The venue is huge, the crowd small. I tried to find WAGS in the crowd of the still shots on the ISU Vienna site but no such luck. She needs a flag. A BIG flag.
WAGS if you are "read only" and not able to post here's an idea...
Go to the US Embassy and borrow a flag. LOL

Thanks, aofreak. Wow, Wang got DQ'd. Here's a couple of shots of our guys! Couldn't believe the time between J.R. and Apolo in the 1500m final. His first World Championship and he wins BRONZE. What a kid! Maybe someone can resize these. I can't get them any bigger. Thanks.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUnULYhYBvo&feature=channelApolo, JR and Jeff's race. It looks like Jeff went down, but the camera is panning so far away from the skaters (and they aren't focusing on the Americans) it's hard to see what really happened. Ditto for the Koreans sneaking up on Apolo and JR. I hope NBC Universal's video is better.

Word from the skaters is the hotel is "outstanding" and many have views of the Danube and the food is excellent.

Apolo has on his red boots and blue bandana. Guess he just couldn't work out the equipment issues with the new boots/skates.... Thanks Briedy for those...here are the big versions.

Wow! AAO & JR got double teamed/blindsided by the Koreans. Holy Cow!
Not sure if this is what happened in the back of the pack but it looks like the last Korean clipped the guy in front of him, or the guy in front of the Korean clipped the Korean, then the Korean does a 180 and it looks like Jeff took a high-speed hit full front. Ouch.
Took my breath away just watching it.

CONGRATS TO 'my baby', JR on his 1st worlds event with a bronze in the 1500m!!! wish you could've looked happier on the podium though unfortunately for us all, the changing of the guard may be coming sooner than we'd like ...bittersweet indeed.
noticed apolo went back to his trusty red boots/skates... 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' ...i always say btw...ho-suk is very determined to be #1 too.
the beast from the east (meng) dq'd ...her specialty is the 500m though.
way to be...KAT!!!
so far overall.....WAY TO GO TEAM U.S.A.!!!
thanks for the pics, vids and results everyone

Word from the skaters is the hotel is "outstanding" and many have views of the Danube and the food is excellent. I'm glad to hear that! Any word on how they like the rink and the ice? We had a pretty decent first day, IMO. All three of our guys made the final - Woo Hoo! It looks like the Koreans boxed in Apolo but good. *sigh* I hope that Jeff is okay after his fall. JR looked very solemn up on the podium. I was a little surprised to see that "Prince Charles" took a DQ in the semi. Lee Ho-Suk is always a threat, but so is Charles. Katherine did a nice job against a very tough field.

*sigh* Apolo got DQ'd in the 1500 last year and now he gets fourth. I guess the 1500 really is the Koreans' best distance. At least J.R. got bronze. I wish he would've smiled.
