Thanks for starting the thread, Dove! What (US) time zone is Sherbrooke, Canada in so that we can follow the ISU results this weekend?

Sherbrooke Quebec is about 30 miles north of Vermont and Interstate 91. It's in the Eastern Time Zone......I can hear early wake-up calls for all you fans on the Pacific coast !!! ..........I have an out-of-town meeting Friday so I'll have to settle for checking post-race results. ENJOY !!!

Dove, thanks for clarifying the time zone. Tomorrow should be a fairly slow day for me at work, so I think I will have some time to check out those flashing numbers! GO TEAM USA!!!!!!!!!!

It's a date, gasp! I'll be here as often as I can this weekend, with my 'flashing numbers' on the side! IMO, we have a VERY strong team, both ladies and men!

Hey, just checked in at ISU and the guys just got done with their 1500m heats. All our boys were #1.
Way to go Eddie Alverez, JR Celski and Jonathan Sermeno! Team USA is off to a GREAT start!

'Looks like all the ladies advanced, too!
Color me confused, but what happened to Vicky LaBourdette and Robert Lawrence? They were the #4 finishers in the US Jr. Champ's - are they only there for the relay???

It's probably just like the Seniors, we can only enter 3 skaters for each event. Vicky and Robert will no doubt be in a different race if it plays out like it usually does.

Awww, shucks, it looks like we lost Eddy to a DQ in the 1500 QF's (bummer) - but JR and Jon advanced!

The ISU made several rule changes at the 2008 Congress that affect the World Jr Short Track competion. Most significant: IMO, the Relays are now 3000m with teams of 4. (Previously 2000m with teams of 3-----they hardly got up tp speed) The way I read Rule 283, only 3 skaters race individual distances in each category (ie Men or Ladies). www.isu.org/vsite/vfile/page/fileurl/0,11040,4844-191971-209194-141143-0-file,00.pdf This link is to the latest ISU Regulations. Skate Great !!! Have Fun
