I love the photos from the nikkei banquet...apolo is such a hot sexy dresser...I love his shiny shirts..they look so soft and sensual....I like shiny things I think Apolo borders on being a terrible dresser. His biggest problem is his clothes rarely fit well esp the jackets. Can we please recommend a good tailor to him? Maybe the tailor could also teach him how to tie a tie. As for the casual dressing, I know the baggy look is in but it couldn't be more unflattering to a guy with short heavily muscled legs. The old pics that have him in a more classic fit of jeans (like the interior Cosmo pics) show off his attributes to droolable perfection the hippity hop jeans make him look like a sloppy, chunky dwarf. On the plus side, he has some decent sense of color and is at least attempting style rather than wearing cookie cutter fashion. With practice and advice (and a decent tailor), he could be stunning.

I bet it is actually difficult for him to find clothes that fit properly due to his proportions. We can't really see what pants he's wearing, but I would bet it's the same or similar black pants that he wore at the Seahawks game. He probably wears the baggy pants because they are, well, comfortable. He was wearing baggy jeans at the Roots store and my impression was definitely not "sloppy, chunky, dwarf". A few other adjectives came to mind... But in those pictures of him from the Kentucky Derby, he looked like he was wearing pants that "fit" and he looked mighty fine in them. I volunteer for the job of Apolo's personal Taylor, as long as I can still be his masseuse in my spare time.

I'm quite sure he does have trouble buying clothes off the rack that fit properly. That's why I said a tailor for the suits. A $40k watch and a suit that doesn't fit is a wierd combination.
He has obviously found jeans that weren't baggy in the past (pictorial evidence) and by now(sigh) his thigns probably aren't as bulked out as they were in Feb or his waist so slim. Levis also does custum fit jeans for not much more than the regular full price. I could live with the jeans though, since it is the fashion and it certainly is comfortable, but for dressing up I vote for clothes that fit. The jackets are the worst, they all look borrowed from Shani's chubby brother or something.
I'm not trying to suggest he has to become appearance obssesed (ick), but since Feb, it seems his entire wardrobe is droopy. Where's the beef? I can't see it, but I know it's in there somewhere. I know, when in doubt, he should just throw on a skinsuit or wear nothing at all.

Anyway, even if it is in style, if you are trying to look good not just in style, you need to attend to whether a style is flattering on you. There are always clothes out there that are gorgeous on the model, but she is 6 ft tall and you stick em on my short frame and they look awful. Baggy clothes are comfortable, I have plenty, but it sure is funny whenever I've been wearing my loose fit jeans for awhile and then throw on the slim fits, I invaribly get a comment on how I've lost so much weight. (I wish).

I liked the jeans that he had on at the Roots store -- and how many guys, exactly, can pull off the rhinestones like he can? -- but I agree...in general, a straight leg, fitted jean is going to look best on him. He looks short-waisted to me (meaning a relatively short distance from his collarbone to his waist) which means that his best look might be tops that are fitted close to his body, relatively short in length, and that are worn out as opposed to tucked in. Being short waisted might also explain why his suit jackets tend to look big on him. Maybe a student cut, which tends to be narrower, might work. I love that he is willing to try different things, and I think that it would be fun to go shopping with him. Any volunteers?

I'm not sure what to think of those jeans. While they were form-fitting ("form-fitting" relative to most of the jeans boys wear today) they were a bit too stylish.
Those bendng-over pics were freaking tasty tho. Tas-teeeee.

i think apolo's body is perfect!! he doesn't need some changes and we shouldn't complain Sorry! I didn't mean to make what I said seem like a complaint -- far from it. I actually prefer the appearance of someone who is short-waisted (i.e. Apolo) to someone with a longer torso. I think that it gives better over-all body proportions. It just makes finding a good fit in clothes a little tricky, particularly for men.
