Thanks #1 for all the links. I really enjoyed them. Love the medals and the artists explaining their concepts.

Hi mandyrocks. I did manage to get some tickets along with my sister, but we in the US were pretty gouged for big $ along the way by forcing packages on us, believe me. We wanted to go to the Men's 1000 Medal round, but that would have been yet another big whopping "package" deal. I am at least happy that I can attend my first Olympics and cheer for our team and Apolo who has worked so hard for so long and has HEART. Good luck to them all. Here's the events we have tickets for:
February 13, 2010 17:00 - Short Track - Men's 1500 m Heats 17:45 - Short Track - Ladies' 500 m Heats 18:24 - Short Track - Men's 1500 m Semifinals 18:49 - Short Track - Ladies' 3000 m Relay Semifinals Medal Event 19:18 - Short Track - Men's 1500 m Finals February 17, 2010 17:00 - Short Track - Ladies' 500 m Quarterfinals 17:27 - Short Track - Men's 1000 m Heats 18:14 - Short Track - Ladies' 500 m Semifinals 18:35 - Short Track - Men's 5000 m Relay Semifinals Medal Event 19:07 - Short Track - Ladies' 500 m Finals

Mom and I managed to get tickets for the Men's 1000 Medal round without having to buy one of those packages. We will only be going up there for day so we didn't need accommodations seeing as how we will be driving up.

We ordered all the short track events, but the only one we got in lottery (without package) were those on the 13th. The ones we got later were apparently held back from the lottery process and only sold with an expensive package. Only in early December did I see that a few others were again offered in a "late release", and they were packages too...but not as expensive as the ones we had already paid for. It's frustrating how they trickle the event tickets out and then maximize the gouging as they go along. You also get other surprises, like the special Olympic Bus you have to register for (and of course pay alot for) to get to Whistler events. Forget hotels! We were lucky and reserved a B&B early on.

To those who keep asking. I am one of many along with 2 other posters here who lost their accomodations in Vancouver when the Canadian group went belly up on their contract with Norwegian Cruise Lines and their ship the Norwegian Star. Since Feb 1, 2010 at about 8 a.m. my time, I have done nothing but try to find accomodations. We scored! Thanks to EVERYONE in the ST community who was working on our behalf--you know who you are and I will be happy to maintain your privacy. However, expect some great big HUGS when I see you in Vancouver. If I could get it through customs I'd bring some good old Texas Long Necks, chips, and hot salsa to add to our Olympic party. I'll let the other 2 posters "out" themselves if they choose

Look on www.Vancouver2010.com and find the "Schedule" tab for dates/times for ST. My sister and I are wearing Apolo bandanas but we'll be just as loud for everyone else. I leave Friday. We got a B&B shuttle service picking us up and bringing back from venues for $10 each way. It's a headache driving, you can't get close to venues or park in residential areas around them at all and many road closures. Public transportation is good, but transfers late at night and possibly in rain and you still have to walk a ways and could wait in lines of people looking for transport...so we went with the shuttle reservation.

We have tickets to 4 ST events Feb 17th, 20th, 24th and 26th. We did have a hard time getting tickets from CoSports.........we bought them 1 at a time in the lottery and with packages. We are staying 11 days and have a condo for 8 days and a hotel (in a package) for 3 days.
