Ladies 500m Quarterfinals Schedule Heat 3 [Splits] Place Start Pos. Name ISU Member Results Qual. 1 TREMBLAY Francois-Louis CAN (for bbb) LOL. thank you! i don't know what it is about him - he's just so purdy to me. ;D We all have our favorites, LOL. 3B, I was so glad to see Flou skate last week in SLC. I thought that he would go the same way as Mathieu Turcotte and Jonathan Guilmette, that is to say, skaters that I'd read about for a long time, but had never actually seen on the ice. I was excited to see that he'd made the WC team, but then in true blonde fashion, I forgot about it completely. When I heard his name announced for a race last week, I looked up, spotted him, and thought, "Wow!" I was excited to finally see Olivier Jean as well. ETA: I love that little cheerleader emotie, Number1! It's perfect. The fans must be so excited right now they can hardly stand it.

hmmm...what media player are you using? Windows Media Player - that's why the extension is WMV. But it says it works with Real Player or Flash, so I don't know. It's also on the CBC site (the actual one min interview). The link for the CBC site is: www.cbc.ca/bc/#There is a pretty picture of Apolo on the right hand side (under B.C. Video and Audio) and you can click it to view it there. Hope that helps. ;D

BUT in my defense, it was from afar. I did that with a lot of skaters though. LOL. My eyes were just drawn to him. I don't remember if OJ was there when I went. I guess I'll have to check The Book.

China takes gold in short-track Sat Oct 25, 8:43 PM
OTTAWA (CBC) - Like good family men, speed-skating brothers Charles and François Hamelin of Ste-Julie, Que., stuck together Saturday, finishing first and third respectively in the men's 1,000 metres at a short-track World Cup event.
The medals were the first by Canadian athletes in Vancouver this weekend.
South Korean Yoon-Gy Kwak won silver, while American superstar Apolo Anton Ohno was disqualified in the final.
In the women's 1,500, China's Zhou Yang emerged unscathed from a crash-filled final lap to prevail in two minutes 21.58 seconds. Eun-Ju Jung and Sae-Bom Shin - both of South Korea -claimed silver and bronze, respectively.
Valerie Maltais of La Baie, Que., finished 10th overall after coming fourth in the B final.
Jung-Su Lee and Si-Bak Sung finished 1-2 for South Korea in a photo finish in the men's 1,500.
Bronze medallist Jeff Simon from the United States led for most of the race but was passed by the two Koreans in the final laps.
Competing in only his second World Cup event, Remy Beaulieu-Tinker of Montreal won the B final to claim ninth overall.
Mang Weng of China won the women's 1,000 metres in a time of one minute 30.28 seconds. Mang, the world champion in the distance also won the opening World Cup 1,000 metre race event in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Qiuhong Liu of China was second and Shin-Young Yang of Korea came in third.
Canadian Marianne St-Gelais of St-Felicien, Que., was eliminated after finishing third in her quarter-final heat.

I was excited to finally see Olivier Jean as well. yes you were LOL! Well, I would be trailing after Apolo, but that's hard to do at an SLC World Cup. Anthony did have a tough heat, 3B. Kimberly came in 4th in her 1000 #2 quarterfinal. Yay, Katherine! What a fighter! I would have liked to have seen that race.

Wow...Anthyony's first lap was (6.696)....what's the fastast lap we've seen done? Anyone know? Fastest I've found was in the heats - Sung Si-Bak 6.50. And then Flou behind him in his heat at 6.58. But that's just for this World Cup. I think in Anthony's prelim or something, he skated a 6.68 - so he was going for it. ;D
