I don't like the weather here because it's like a rollercoaster. One day it's 80 degrees and the next day it's in the 30's with a windchill in the teens. The cold weather last two days then it's back to near 80 degrees. That has been the weather pattern here in Texas for the past three weeks.

LOL--this part of the country is never prepared for snow--here on the coast we deal with rain and grey skies--ice and snow and sanding trucks are not the norm---no one is ever ready for weather like this---I have a foot of snow on my fence and patio and it is snowing again right now---we won't even talk about those folks trying to drive the mountain passes to get to the Seahawks game today---gas stations are out of gas and no garbage pickup since last Wednesday---there are exactly 2 cars even trying to drive down Rainier Road about now--

well the good news for all of us is....
Which is a pretty funny greeting that we in my neighborhood are giving each other as we're dressed up in ski pants, extra layers of clothing, helping each other shovel out.
If I had gone to St Louis, I never would have made it out of Boston and I never would have made it back...

OLYMPIA thanks for explaining...Vancouver is even worse because we hardly ever get more than an inch of snow...mostly black ice...this time we've got both...a freezing sleet last night followed by a whole night of actual snow...have about 3 inches already and it's still going.... MTNME...I was pleased to see your picture! of course we knew who it was...hope you all are having an awesome time and will be able to fly out with no delays at the airport! Hi to Lori and others who are there from me. Thanks to SK8on for all the links to pictures and articles....and to everyone who has contributed pics or info....really appreciated.. Have a safe trip home from wherever you are and a joyful Christmas holiday, or Kwanza, or Hannukah, etc.... back to the awards ceremony... Hurray for the U.S. team....they were all awesome...especially our guy & JR and Jeff & Katherine, & Kimberly & Allison and both junior teams! Musical Mom ;D ;D

In boston we're having our 2nd snowstorm in 3 days...coming down like crazy... Just announced the men's relays..i didn't hear Apolo's name...he's not racing? Apparently not! I wonder why??? I was wondering how they pick a relay team at nationals in the first place, and now I'm really confused because the guy ranked #1 isn't even skating? How does that work into the points picture? Anybody know and willing to share? And let me add my thanks to Mom's for everybody's reports and pictures! It's great to have the live feed, even better to be able to watch it, but better to have people explain what we saw later...

aaosmts19--I don't think I would have made it out of SeaTac either--Alaska Airlines cancelled 47 flights--and they are having trouble getting more de-icer because the company that makes it is on strike--
Yeah musicalmom--we have black ice under all the snow--they think maybe it will be better by Christmas Day---sigh--

Is it just me, or does Apolo look like he's in a lot of pain as he gets on (and especially off) the medal podium?

Apolo is DEFINITELY not putting weight on his right ankle ! I noticed that too...both times on teh podium...carefully stepped up and down...... Good news is that when he was on the podium he was shifting his weight back and forth, equally, between the left and right. But definitely, each time he hopped down off the podium on hisleft foot and the soreness was evident...

Is it just me, or does Apolo look like he's in a lot of pain as he gets on (and especially off) the medal podium? That didn't get past me either. Hope everything is ok Maybe the top step is just really high.

My son and I watched him closely and we are both diagnosing an ankle injury. Hoping it's not anything bad.
