Doonick, you are a genius!  Thanks so much for posting those pics. You've made my heart happy. And congrats to your British guys. They're favorites of mine. Nice going! Skaterswaltz, our guys seem to be into taking "decompression" time after the relay. They did that in SLC as well. IMO the relay seems to be a particular focus for them right now. |

Can't compete for clarity of pictures, but these are my first ever with a digital camera. Will first post a selection of Apolo the Competitor with his various warrior expressions. Most were taken with a zoom lens pointed toward the hot box. Musical Mom THE MANY FACES OF APOLO THE COMPETITOR Apolo Yawns  Apolo Analyzes  Apolo's Game Face  Apolo Stretches  Apolo studies the competition  Apolo Watches Intently  Apolo Focuses  Apolo Yawns again  Apolo Determined  Apolo The Warrior Prepares  Apolo in the hot box before a race  He is the epitome of concentration, focus and single minded purpose as he contemplates taking the ice. Looking at these portraits , I wish I was a sculptor..Apolo's profile is a work of art...should perhaps be carved on Mount Rushmore? And to show his softer side, here is a picture taken Friday afternoon at qualifyings...it's from my first meeting with Apolo but I've cut me out of the picture    |

Thanks Skaterswaltz.. Can you believe we were actually there! I wanted to give our fellow boarders a sense of how it unfolded. Now that I'm getting the hang of my camera, there's no more short track in Vancouver til 2010  I appreciate your feedback. Musical Mom I'm pretty much done posting pictures til after the U.S. election. I'd like to join you (thank you for posting an earlier reminder) in reminding those on this board who are registered to USE THAT VOTE ! It's a precious gift and your vote truly matters.  Dear AOFREAK; Would love to see your pictures. Apolo always seems to have a softer, friendlier look when posing with fans. It amazes me how sincere he is when you consider how many hundreds of fan pictures he's likely posed for over the years. Nothing automatic about his smile, even when he's tired. No wonder we are such devoted fans! Would also love to hear the story of your meeting in Salt Lake. Or is it posted under the Salt Lake thread? I'm soooo behind on my reading...
