in one and a hlaf weeks I am going to Dallas for a bussiness training event. It is 3 days long, and includes a beach party. I am going shopping this weekend for clothes to wear. The weekened is bussines casual except for the beach party which is just beach clothes. I would love som idea's of some things to wear this weekend. I want to look appropriate but still cute, young and kinda fun. Any ideas?

hum...trying to think. ah, being a women, and shopping for clothes, it's fun, but a pain in the arse. i don't know too much about your style. if it were me i'd go for comfort and something that fit me well (as in, for my body type. i'm always bummed finding clothes that are so cute but just not made for my body type...)

Jen...it is kinda either or....I was thinking about for one outfit getting some slim fit burmuda shorts and a flowy top and wearing it with wedge platforms....but I will be there for 3 days....need more idea's!!!

It is a dry heat or is it really humid? Here in Iowa it is about 95 and Humid as hell!

And the last day, I assume, is the beach party thing! Just party your heart out! And wear your bikini. |

I'd suggest: Business casual....what about khakis and a tucked in shirt?....capris and a pretty 3/4 sleeve light sweater? No flip-flops while in training... No bikini! :-[I don't care if you never see anyone there again...you are still networking and its business...stay with the shorts and a fun top which doesn't give it all away. Add alcohol to the bikini and you've just turned it into spring break, which is what you don't want....it is still business-related. You can still look cute without looking like you are on the dating scene. And you want to be remembered for the right reasons and not the wrong reasons. (sorry, again I don't know your age!) It sounds like you are on the right track. Maybe when you get back we'll get a fashion show?  Having posted this and coming back to edit....because I am NO FASHIONIST, not a shopper and I hate clothes buying....It's pretty funny, tho, that I have opinions! |

angel...as you said in your initial post...appropriate is this key word.
you gotta know what part of your skin you can show...if you have nice shoulders and legs, flaunt them...
but do NOT show cleavage, bootay or middrift during training hours...
impress them with your beautiful face and bright mind!
personally, separates work the best for travel as you can mix and match with other pieces...
comfort is important too as you do not want to be tugging/pulling on your clothes.
aofreak said, dress cool. natural fabrics are the best...stay away from nylon, polyester, acetate.
make your clothes fun with color! GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks! I am thinking for the beach party, which will be Saturday night (day 2) I will wear a pair of shorts and a black halter top...it doesn't show any cleavage but showcases my nice shoulders and back. I have a blue top that I am going to wear...it has cap sleeves, and it has a built in tank and then the outer shell is a little looser and goes into a flowy but still structured v-neck wrap...I am thinking about getting a pair of beige dress (but still casual) pants to go with that...I don't want to have a bunch of things with me but I also want to be able to mix and match and have fun with it....I'm 19 so I want to dress young, but I want it to be known that I too can be a force to be reckend with in the bussiness.

so after shopping for 13 hours..I got....
1 pair of chocolate brown dress paints...
a bright pink top with a chocolate brown belt
a flowy blue top with brown accents
1 pair of black bermuda shorts
1 awesome rocker t with a guitar on it (doubt I will wear it but it was 3 bucks and too friggin awesome, plus there was only one left in my size so it was totally ment to be.
1 pair of brown flipflops with a wedge heel
1 pair of really cute/ sexy terquoise strappy sandals
so I have day 1 party covered....beach party covered ( I think I will wear my white small town sleeper t w/ the bermuda shorts to the beach party) and day three/ church service covered....
day 2 I think I will wear a really dark wash pair of jeans and a nice top. That will be the day that I will be in training the longest.
