You like that picture, eh, Daisy? Here's a little description I wrote about it right after it came out, reprinted here just for you. *Bella donning Photography as Art Critic Hat* Here's what I see. You've got this thigh, this massive, powerful, angular thigh, that dominates the shot. It is raw and animalistic. He is holding it back with his hand, but even he is having trouble restraining it. His fingers are tense, his grip firm. He created this thigh and although it fights to break free, he has it tamed for the time being. We lose the buttocks at the bottom of the picture but the u-turn suggested is palpable and we easily travel back up through the slender waist and chest. We are out of wild kingdom now and back in the man village. That massive thigh is attached to a human being! A man. A young man with a tender looking belly and a delicate looking nipple. The shading in these areas echoes their softness, yet they are not entirely hidden from us. He is not afraid or ashamed to be soft, too. How different the appendage is on this end of this marvelous creature! The perfectly parallel angles of the thigh and the arm accentuate this contrast. Half beast, half man… or is there something more? For now we travel upward past sloping shoulders to the sharp jaw and the playful, puckish smile. Man and beast, yes, but the eye hints at a third element… a jaunty kind of sorcery. Something of the stuff that turns frogs into princes and ordinary young men into Olympic champions. The Peter Pan coif completes the magic, as if he’s just flown in from Neverland and is sitting on your bedroom window sill poised for the next swashbuckling adventure. Second star on the right; straight on ‘till morning. Wendy never had it so good.  |
