Hey Billiey - I remember reading back in 2002 at a book signing where it was said that Apolo always asked someone to go along with him. Thanks for the additional info.

oh yeah that guy.....i don't know about the KCA pic....it doesn't look either Creswell or Gray....i think he's alone there

Looks like Creswell to me, too. Apolo usually takes a friend along to things like that. He's been known to take Shani and another speed skater named Derek Gray to appearances as well. A lot of people think Kimo and Jan hosted him in Hawaii, and I'm sure Kimo knew the sites and what to show him since he's from there originally, but Kimo and Jan live in CA so the whole pack of friends went there together. I'm glad he's got a circle of friends to hang out with, especially with all the traveling he does. Those long trips in particular wouldn't be any fun by yourself. Kimo is from Hawaii but does now live in CA. He and Jan visit Kimo's family in Hawaii several times a year. Kimo told me a few years ago that he and Jan will be moving to Hawaii in a few years. So he is very familiar with Hawaii and was there to host Apolo and David. As far as Dereck Gray goes he and Apolo roomed together a year in CS. Dereck and Apolo haven't been close for a few years now. Dereck has not skated as well as he once did so he has been training in Canada the past three years. |
