Hi!
There's one thing I want to know, when Apolo was in Torino, he was in a competition where if he participated, he wouldn't win any medals, but he wanted to skate anyway, and he climbed over the edge of the arena to get into the ice rink (freeing himself from restraints by coaches). I don't know the whole story...does anyone else?

fabulousandthick- The story I heard was that Apolo was late for the "B" final of the 1500 meter and had to climb over the boards to get on the rink. Some of the officials tried to grab him to keep him from going over. I think he may have gotten a false-start penalty for delaying the event. I've seen a couple of small pics of the officials trying to hold Apolo back. It didn't work...you can't stop Apolo!  |

I can't remember where I saw the pics and read about it. Someone had emailed me a link. I think I had the story right though. Apolo was late and the official wouldn't let him on the ice because he didn't recognize him. I don't think it made Apolo mad though. He said something about it being ok because he could have been some crazy person trying to get on the ice. I saved some of the pics but a couple are small.    |

yeah...APolo was in "shock" mode. Because,you know, he didn't advance to the FInal of the 1500m (the race where he touched the skates of the Chinese dude...which cause him to loose speed and off track). Soo, i read somewhere....that APolo totally forgot about the B Final and like he started to take his skates off and all....then he remembered or maybe his coach told him. SO, that's when he was trying to get into the ice rink that one of the Italian officials stopped him. Just a misunderstanding..that's all. ANd Apolo placed 8th in that race, overall.

well even if you did win....you'll be placed like....4th or 5th place!! But...hey remember...this was like moments after....the 1500m semis.....sooo...APolo must have been shaken up..or his mind wasn't just focused enough. Hey he is HUman!!!

Well....even super heroes need a break sometime!!LOL OOk i dunno im just saying.
And....you know i think he def. learned from that little mistake that he did....and....look at the outcome....he came away with 3 medals!!! c'mon you gotta give him props!!!

Poor Apolo! He looks embarassed. I wonder where were the rest of the people supposed to be helpin' him out? Where was team-Apolo? What a competitor he is.
